Three years ago, I met this girl in an elective class through a guy I was somewhat close with at the time. We weren’t exactly friends, we were just aquatinted with each other since we had the same classes. So I met this girl through him and it turns out they were dating. Her name was Maisy. Me and her would talk to each other every chance we got. There got to a certain point in time where I developed feelings for her. I think she might’ve talked to me more in that class than her own boyfriend. So my sophomore year goes by and junior year starts, we didn’t have any classes together, but each time we saw each other, we would have a good long talk about life, school, or anything you can imagine having a conversation about. She was still dating him at the time, so I couldn’t make a move right then and there. My senior year comes around and like the last year I didn’t have any classes with her, but this time we rarely saw each other and there was this one time we were walking through opposite directions of the school hallway and we awkwardly locked eyes at each other and none of us said hi or even nodded our heads to say hi. I know this is something small but I always beat myself over it. She was single at this time and I thought this was the perfect time to talk to her, get close with her and hopefully ask her to prom. I graduated this year (2024) and it never happened. Long story short, in my senior year I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and depression, just want to end it all, but luckily those thoughts didn’t go through all the way. And flash forward to six months which was last month, I texted her and gave her a whole Stephen king novel message on how I was in loved with her. She was respectful about everything and I commend her for that, in my head I thought I did the right thing, but in my heart it was saying that I wanted more. I really hope we bump into each other someday and get close to her even if it’s as friends or as lovers. I love you Maisy!
