I love watching John do his thing! Crazy that he was talking about a pandemic back then.

MDS is not a 'Google' map but rather a needed map view or capture of where an out of region call is coming from. For example, if you have a call taker in Boston, and a caller from Scranton, PA calling Boston 9-1-1 to request help for his mother in Boston, the call taker in Boston may want to see a map of where that caller is from, which of course is out of their area of operations. Likewise a call could get inadvertently sent to another center other than the one that would normally serve its geographic location. Here again the MDS would be needed to provide the call taker with a picture of where the call is coming from.
