For any foreigners who might happen upon it: the full documentary is up on cultureunplugged, it should come up if you google for it. I just watched it. It was very good cinematically, but as an estonian I feel like they could've given more of a spotlight on the more technical or artistic aspects of Regilaul, so foreigners watching would have more context on the style's underlaying rules. It dhowed plenty of examples, spoke a lot on tradition, power of words, the importance of staying true to nature, of admiring this older way of life, but they didn't really point out very basic things like alliterative rhyming or the different types of regilaul, or why they were sung the way they were and so forth. I.e. the kind of interesting explanations that are easily available in an Estonian elementary school music textbook but harder to come by for an English-speaking audience. Still a really nice documentary and a good watch. :D
