Personally,if you have bled them and this happens, you either didn’t push the pistons back or they are sticky/seized.You have to lube your pistons. You will find lots of videos on this subject on hope brakes on yt.Hope it helps.

is the micro adjust per gear, or is it for the entire cassette? Is the micor adjust in the app different than the one shown here?

This is a God send for me. I just installed a new chain and cassette and my gears still aren't working well. I thought the only adjustment there was was the micro-adjust in the app. I had no idea about these other adjustments. I'm embarrassed to say that I've had this drivetrain for over 1 year and never realized this.

Wild that a seasoned mechanic calls it a "drivechain". Thats like your chef asking how you like your Pasketti. Also didn't mention to set this up under rider seated sag for B-tension. I'd avoid your shop like the plague.

Good video. Good to know about the microadjustment with the shifter. But it's even better with the SRAM AXS app -- gives a range from 1 to 31 positioning, on each cog. Was a lifesaver for me.

Switch the auto focus off or the Blur effect on the camera next time it just goes blurry on the derailleur as its focusing on your hand that's closest! Now this update set is cheaper alot more are getting it so be nice to see more of what the derailleurs doing

When I am in my largest cog if I rotate the cranks backwards just a bit the chain will jump several cogs lower in the rear and the derailleur isn't moving. This is important that this does not happen because many times I am trying to clean technical and have to start again by backpedalling a bit which means I am always in the wrong gear requiring me to manually spin the cranks to the granny gear and get back on the bike. Should I try moving the cranks inward to compensate what I think is a chainline issue and is probably considered normal or is there another trick with AXS ? Yeti SB-140 11/52

What a st*pid bleeding system 🤦‍♂And you skipped showing how to clean all pistons. 4:45 I want to see how you do that 🙂 There is actually a much easier way: put a hex key (usually 4mm) in between the pistons and pull them out. Surprised not all bike mechanics know this...

Just saw this video. Was exactly what I was looking for. I recently bought a new Trek. KZbin is so smart seems it knows me better than myself. You did a fantastic job explaining this. One question I have for you. Could I get away with just doing the tape on the undersides of the bike and leaving the top sides un-taped? That way I would keep the black glossy look of the bike. Or in your professional experience is no area safe from gravel and nicks? Thanks for your help and passion!

Glad it helped! I tape the top specifically because I wear knee pads, thick shorts, or DH pants. Rubbing on the top tube usually scuffs up the paint pretty good and it doesn't look good after a while. You can also get clearer 3m tape that isn't as thick if you don't want to lose that shine.

Did you really have to stop this guy in front of you while he was entering a berm? Did you really have to tell him you were behind him after waiting only 5/10 seconds? He heard you, you just had to wait he could slow down, stop, in a normal spot, and only if he wanted to, he had the right to keep going, and you know that. Do you think that just because you are a fantastic rider, you are entitled to the right to use the trail for you only? Don't you think the guy in front of you was trying to have fun as you did and that you killed his fun? Do you think that your YT video has greater rights than his fun? Really? You did not even wait for the right spot for him to stop without destroying his ride. This is not the first time I have seen this behavior in one of your videos; I remember at least another time (I think in a Mammoth video, but not sure, though). Don't get me wrong, you make great videos, you are a fantastic rider. But probably you are not a good person as you are as a rider. And by the way, you violated the Big Bear Park rules; you should have been kicked out.

I don't often reply to Karens but I'll bite. Anyone who has worn a full face helmet in their life will know that it muffles everything and it is difficult to hear anything behind you. I alerted him of my presence, and even rode off trail in the center of the berm in order to allow him to stay on trail only after he looked back at me. I'm glad you find policing other people's enjoyment of trails to be entertaining. And I would be happy to pass you on the trails any day. 👍🏼

@@SingleTrackSurgeon I wear every sat and sun a DH full face, and I always hear people faster than me coming behind (maybe it does not happen to you, and you have no idea of how it works), and I try to get out of the way, if possible, and when possible, not in the middle of a berm though. Instead, I stay out of the way of slower riders. And if too slow or real beginners, I usually, I stop and wait instead of trying to pass them. I usually thank anyone who tries to explain to me what I did wrong and makes me think about it; I do not call them Karen, and I do not show anger, as you are clearly doing in your post. You probably pass over me every Saturday and Sunday in Big Bear; keep doing it. I will definitely learn something from you. I might also buy you a beer. But calling Karen, me, or anyone else trying to point out your behavior on a beginner-oriented trail over clearly a total beginner who was for sure scared of you and had to change line without being an expert probably confirms what I wrote above. Not going to keep discussing about it though, that was my comment, I see you do not like negative comments, good enough for me, have fun, keep doing great videos, and thank you for the channel content.

in 2024 there is still a note on SRAM AXS website mentioning:"Note: MicroAdjust affects position across all of the cogs. There is no independent adjustment for each cog." so unfortunately, the information in the video is incorrect. I tested this on my eMTB as well and it's imposiible to retain a value in the app per different cogs, each will have the last modified value

Mind blowing! Bro, thanks so much for sharing so much knowledge. True “customization”. Sorry (not sorry) to you that think that a bunch of $$$ for drop in parts that work, out the gate, without some finagling is all it takes. Some stuff works that way. But you gotta go hands on, measure, cut, modify and do the finishing touches by hand. Period.
