A little nutmeg goes a long way! It's something about that flavor people connect with. Thanks for watching and commenting.

You put in all the cheeses I like .. especially the smoked Gouda..I use ground mustard instead of nutmeg but will definitely try nutmeg..bc you look like you what your doing. You didn't over drench it with sauce..very good guy

If you prepare the Mac & Cheese the night before & put in the fridge, won't the noodles absorb all of the liquids? When I get ready to cook it the next day, should I add more milk? Just tryin to get it right
@COOKnJourneywithGDniceКүн бұрын
I do recommend you covering the dish tightly with foil or an air tight lid before refrigerating. Noodles adsorbing some of the liquids is a good thing! My recipe measurements create enough liquid to sustain being refrigerated beforehand, so you shouldn’t need to add more milk prior to baking. Thanks for the question.

A question please. I want to make mac and cheese the day before and refrigerated. Would this type of recipe, which sounds so good, be okay to do ahead of time?
@COOKnJourneywithGDniceКүн бұрын
Hi. Yes, you can make this ahead of time and refrigerate. Allow your mixture to cool down completely before placing in the fridge. Also, add an additional 15 minutes to the cooking time since it's starting off cold. I hope you enjoy. Please let me know how it turns out for you!

GDnice I was a professional line cook/chef I use the method of the double boiler when making custards I can also make on the stove as well. Cooking is all about how the product feels with the spoon or whisk. Your recipe is very similar to mine. Good job on how you explained what you are doing. I no longer work as line chef I miss it though it truly was a joy it never seemed like a job for me.

@@COOKnJourneywithGDnice hello again, the link mixing bowl link you provided was for glass mixing bowls not your stainless steel blue bowl. Please advise. Also, please explain how you setup the steamer/double boiler before the blue bowl was inserted. I’m trying to get ready to make banana pudding for thanksgiving. Thanking you in advance.
@COOKnJourneywithGDnice7 күн бұрын
@@Jay24-b Hi Jay, I'm honestly not quite sure where I purchased the blue mixing bowl from, however I've included 2 more links in the description of similar items. Check them out. Additionally, take a look at the setup in Amazon for the original steamer pot I used in the video. It only has 1 insert, which is what i used. Then I placed the mixing bowl inside the insert. The key is to make sure your mixing bowl comfortably fits inside the pot. It doesnt need to be a perfect fit. Your goal is to allow the steam from the water to heat up the bottom of your bowl. It may be best to practice making it before thanksgiving in order to work out the kinks! I'm happy to hear you are giving this a try. You won't regret it! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
