Mine started to twist so I stopped...LOL.. I thought screw you unloosened an it would.....un expand the wieght wedge, ( which it didnt have) what my mind had it held in with... Well this is a crap design.... if you pull it out one time.. wont it be looser an come out, .. Ones i saw had a screw on end.. you tightened an tightened on inside.. loosened an of course opposite.. well ok that mystery is solved...

You did not show us how you released the four tabs to start it coming out. You skipped that part. After you sprayed some kind of lubricant into the handlebar (I assume) the next part of the video shows it already out past those four metal tabs. so how do you actually start it coming out of the handlebar. Just twist it with the Allen key while pulling out? the Allen key doesn't really tighten it into the handlebar?

Why do the front tires on these bike plow to the left or right in sand or gravel. Ive owned yz400 kx500 hsky450 cr500 and road for 30 years in so cal deserts and dont recall this ever being an issue. Coud it be the tire size, the weight, fork rake, axle placement. Or all of the above?

Is it feel comfortable to you to go on a trip with 100 miles distance none stop on free way and keeping up with the speed of 80 mph?
@joepasco14204 жыл бұрын
I did 80 miles at 65 mph yesterday to explore a new riding area. It will cruze faster but the engine feels good at 65. My top speed with stock gears and tires is 96mpg so 30 mph slower is easy for this bike.

I just bought my Versys X-300 ABS last month. For me, 90% commuting, 10% touring the back roads of the Texas Hill Country. Previous bikes - Vstrom 1000, Suzuki Boulevard C40, Vstar 650, Honda Shadow 750, Rebel 250, 1974 CB-360, and a Ural CT with sidecar. I commuted for a long time using the Vstrom 1000 (loved it!), but so did my son - so he inherited the VStrom, and I purchased the X-300. Weekend touring on the Vstrom was excellent, lots of luggage space, plenty of power for 2-up, and about 40mpg. However, I've read and seen so many good things about the X-300, I decided to give it a try. My thoughts: - Extremely qualified commuter. It's perfectly comfortable 30-55mph, averaging 60-65mpg with a 4.5 gal. tank. Think 250 miles per tank. - Highway riding is no problem. It's easily capable of cruising along 65-70mph, lots of fun running through the gears. the Vstrom 1000 was more comfortable running along the interstate, but the X-300 with the Ninja 300 engine is certainly capable. - Rolling through the twisty backroads is very capable. I have not done any significant off-road riding (just passed 1000 miles overall) but planning on later this summer. It's light, easy to lean, tires are good, even in the rain. Seat is a bit hard when brand new, brakes are predictable. I've really enjoyed the low cost, high 60+mpg, good deals on insurance cost.

Good video Got mine 1-1/2 weeks a go 1400+ Km. on it so far and loving it. Suspension a little hard for me ( Bad back ) tried to lighten it up but the wrench that came with it just keeps slipping off, have to find a better wrench. Glad you made this video it shows that the Versys + can do off road. There are just too many out there that say it can't, but they most likely have not tried it, off road. I only had mine on loos gravel and sand &clay roads and some very light trails but have had no problem and it seems to love the dirt roads, and the twisties.

Great video, glad you liked the seat, hope to pick mine up Friday, the dealer is waiting for parts, getting center stand, engine guard, heated grips, power outlet, and Givi hard bags. so should make a good ADV bike. Will be doing 80% road and 20% light off road, and there are a lot of gravel roads hear. Do you think this bike needs a bash plate for light off road use.

@VadimAstashevsky5 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the terrain you plan on tackling. For what you see in the video, the answer is definitely no. I still do not have a bash plate on the bike and I don't intend to install one based on the trails I take on. The bike is suspended really well, so its unlikely you will bottom out unless you are jumping it. The springs feel as if through they are progressive.

Dang...so close but why not a full 400? at least 350....something about sub 350 is just a turn off...I feel like 400cc could be done on the same chassis even the same go would be acceptable but with way more TORQUE! I think it could have been lighter too....but I suppose it's cheap enough to invest in making it lighter ...I hate aftermarket exhaust for the maintenance of packing changes ...but that would be some significant weight...and a light battery might save a cheap 5llbs or so. But I think I'll pass and wait for something's little bit bigger ....maybe Honda will do a CRF500L based on their 500twin?

@VadimAstashevsky6 жыл бұрын
Its an unfortunate passing of an icon. I doubt we will see anything in that cc range, as they don't offer an engine with that displacement, at least not as far as I know. Simply, there would be too much R & D costs to make the bike as inexpensive as the KLR was. Still, I hope for a replacement myself.
