Thank you for uploading these two rare singles. Hearing 'new' music from my dead favorite band... it's overwhelmingly bittersweet. I wish we could have had more. I'm grateful for what we got.

Who was the bassist on this? I know Jon Ellis left after EIP but can't remember if it was before or after this! I'd imagine it was Steven.
@yelkhan20023 ай бұрын
This came out in 2006 I think? There's a video of them performing the same year and Steven is already the bassist. Most likely the case here as well.

Maybe the best song they ever wrote?

Hey man hope you are having a good day, I like your video :) I also saw you like H3H3 and wanted to let you know I make similar content but with my own style. I uploaded recently a very funny video where I talk about the best service on the internet. Not going to spoil it for you but it has to do with someone singing happy birthday with only a thong on haha. Would be appreciated if you could check my video out! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXKWfqh_i7SbeqM It's pretty hard to grow on KZbin now a days so it would mean a lot :) Thanks!

Not heard this for years! Remember this and a load of other pre-Frames stuff on their forum.... Always wished they'd done a full studio version of this - a forgotten classic!

@@schnozfin 'siberian bullshit' and 'red rag to a bear' were available to download on their myspace page as a little christmas gift while they were between labels...can't remember the year now?? but they were only up there for a short time.

I love you. I've been looking for this song for so long. Would it be possible that you could send me this?

I remember when they had this track and "siberian bullshit" up on their myspace page for a short while (maybe over christmas one year?) really cool songs, wish they had done more produced versions.

Right there with you. Definitely used a fair bit of my bandwidth on their myspace back in the day. So glad these are still around

Btw r u sure the title is not "red rag to a bull"? I would have no idea myself, but that title makes more sense. He also says it in the song.

I do have a history of confusing my mammals. I once thought I'd seen a Short-necked Giraffe - but in actual fact, it was just a deer. That's just the title of the song dude.

Definitely the correct title - Pretty sure it's pure Vennart wordplay - this was recorded/written around 2008 some time following the financial crash (or "Credit Crunch" here in Britain) resulting from the collapse of Lehmann Brothers - the era of Occupy etc. Bear/bull (markets) are Wall Street stockbroking terms, so it's an allusion to that ("are we all in...." this together, as our politicians were fond of saying at the time.)
@shemademegay11 ай бұрын
It was definitely BEAR. I ripped it straight off their myspace page at the time, along with 'siberian bullshit' and a cover of the snowman theme. I think it was 2006-2007?? I would look on my Itunes but can't be assed.

again, thanks for posting. oceansize is such a mysterious, amazing adventure on the internet.

I agree. Have you found the stuff they did during their experimental Hip Hop phase? That's a joke. And they are an amazing adventure!
@yelkhan20022 жыл бұрын
@@schnozfin I think Mike Vennart actually jammed with Snoop Dogg at one point, so perhaps they weren't too far from that.

The feeling of listening to something "new" from a band that doesn't exist anymore.
