The West Indies fast bowlers of late 70's and early 80's might be the fastest of all time. The results and impact, they had made against stronger teams, overcoming pitch conditions and climatic barriers were unmatched in cricket history. Andy Roberts, Michael Holding, Sylvester clarke, collin Croft, Wayne Daniel and Malcolm Marshall, among others had proved it, even in the slow pitches of India and Pakistan., that too, without using reverse swing.Others, including Jeff Thomson had always struggled in slow pitches. Even in 1975, when he was at his fastest, Jeff Thomson failed miserably in England. He always failed against Pakistan., both at home and in Pakistan. Dennis Lilee and all other bowlers, except perhaps Richard Hadlee, generally struggled in Asia, while West indians thrived and conquered, everywhere.

The strongest cricket teams in history could be defeated by the West Indies team of late 70s and early 80s. Great Don Bradman had testified their strength. Australian teams and pace bowlers., including Dennis Lilee, Jeff Thomson, Glen Magrath, Mitchel Johnson, failed miserably in Asia., while the West Indians had their strength everywhere

jake couldn't knock him out even if this wasn't scripted lol, bro took shit ton of face punches and still stood with no damage

Haha, right? Tyson’s chin is legendary! He’s taken punches from some of the hardest hitters in boxing history and still kept going. You’ve got to respect that level of toughness - it’s insane! And yeah, props to Jake for showing respect, even after the slap the night before lol.
@buniboi2163

@@fdhut yeah, buut jake is hated even more than before. bro did that tongue emote, and taunted, teasing him at the end. and he'd be known as the ''lumberjack who needed a script to beat a lion'', if he would've gotten tyson knocked down and did damage, it would've been turned to ''man who beat up an elder''. but this fight was really sad, even tyson looked upset and sad before and after. especially after, i feel bad that he sold himself like that. if he fought like he did in the training, and this wasn't scripted. would've gone 2 ways; a very good fight leading to a tie. or jake got his ass beat and possibly bled.
@fdhut

@@buniboi2163 Jake definitely didn’t leave with a win in the hearts of many after that fight. I agree with you, but I’m more disappointed with the quality of Netflix streaming-it froze a lot, and that was frustrating. They should be ashamed for letting that slide, especially with the amount of attention the fight got.

Yeah, too much emphasis on bowling average without context. Cowie was obviously very good, but 9 tests is too small a sample size to compare with Hadlee and Bond. I'd also argue that Hadlee's superior strike rate to Bond puts him ahead there as well - strike rate (frequency of getting wickets) matters in tests.
@JamieWoodcock-v3n
@JamieWoodcock-v3n Ай бұрын
@AgentOccam Hadlees numbers dwarf over everyone else. If Cowies and Bond had played a lot more tests (Cowie was of course very unlucky, as there was a world war going on for most of his career) and kept up their strike rate, then they would definitely have challenged Hadlee.
