Nern's quote truly saddens me when you take in the fact that he's a historian, meaning that what he saw before his life being inevitably taken by Brad's wrath is almost note for note with the plenty of other stories he read. How many times did you think read stories about a man on an endless pursuit for something that is just beyond his reach, to the point where the very world around him collapses and he either turns into a monster of his own making or dies with nothing but his own body to spare. But this is no story anymore. This is reality. A reality in which Nern willingly joined the aforementioned man, unaware of what he will do to get what he wants, even if it means messing with the future of everyone. If he had intervened just sooner, or even *asked* Brad about what he plans to do with the girl, he could've at the very least prevent all of this. But what's done was done, and it feels so bad. At least he'll get to see his bitch wife soon enough.

TBH, I cant help but feel like this all could've been avoided if Brad joined Rando instead. The ideal plan is he'd keep her a secret until she's old enough to have complex opinions and can advocate for herself, then joins up with Rando for the extra safety. If he joined when she was a baby, it's likely someone would've done unspeakable things to her and they never would've known.

My favorite parting line is probably Queen Roger's, tbh. He strikes me as a more introspective fella than he lets on, moreso than one would expect of him, running a brothel at the end of the world. You really do get the impression that he understands the world is fucked either way; even if they do get ahold of Buddy and use her to repopulate, one girl alone can't fix everything, and it's more than likely the world is still gonna go to shit and humanity will die off regardless. He still has to hope, has to try, because maybe, maybe, it will make things better... But he also knows the amount of carnage and trauma that's resulted from this hunt for the girl, and feels deep in his gut that it isn't going to be worth the cost.

Buddy was like 10 I'm sure rando would have waited, but who's to say even on joy brads plan wasnt to protect buddy until she was an adult, he said something like that, so she could make her own choices. Humanity ain't all that important if we're not living to a higher standard. His companions should have got she was only still a girl, and if they felt forced to fight or didn't want they should have helped brad, fuck them.

I saved Terrys life at every opportunity, and barely made it past some areas because of the lack of items, but we pulled through and despite him not being the best for combat (I never got him to the level where he gets beefy) he was always #2 in my party just on principal. I like to roleplay when I play games like this and my Brad would have kept Terry by his side. When Brad proved he was too lost to do anything but hurt the people around him, I didn't feel betrayed by Terry. I saw him as a hero stepping up to stop his closest friend from selfishly dooming all of humanity. Even if the other party members didnt gang up to stop Brad, I believe that Terry still would have tried. Just like Rando, Terry owes Brad everything, but the fate of the son is to surpass the father, the pupil to the master, and the hero to the villain. Pretty much Terry is a raging chad with a massive hog

Just finished the game for the first time today and it was very sad truly realizing what Brad had become. My party was Terry hintz, Birdie Hall, and Crisp Daddy. I've never had that feeling of dread in a game, than being forced to fight my party that I was so proud of :(
