Keith you were actually in the rear flank of the tornado, and if you look to the right side in this video you can actually see the tornado (wrapped in rain) heading to the southeast! People always think they should see a funnel, but that is what made this thing even more dangerous, you didn’t see one, just a darker haze in front of you or to the side of you!! The trees were actually telling you where it was, plus these inflow winds from this tornado were very very strong!! Almost as strong as winds in an EF1 tornado! You know you just missed this thing by just a few minutes, thank goodness!! Thank you so much for coming up and helping us here in Joplin!! I’d love to see the pictures you took! I know it’s been ten years, but for us who lived here, I think it will always seem like yesterday!! When I was a little girl I remember being with my family in Neosho in our station wagon and we were near a tornado, it was very scary and I won’t forget it, even after all these years! So I completely understand your reasoning for shaking!! It is scary plus not knowing exactly what has happened, is even more frightening!! I bet once you found out though, you had to get to the potty!!

Hi Virginia, I rarely look at this channel but I just happened to do it today and saw your message. I will see if I can find some of the old videos and photos of the clean up. I remember the area was unbelievably devastated, for miles and miles! I even found someone's dead dog and lots of photos from houses. I have another channel called Keith and Wi Adventures on youtube please check us out!

Be careful what you wish for!! Lol!!! So glad you made it to Joplin unhurt!! The tornado was actually in your 3rd video off to your right!! The wind you were experiencing was the inflow of the tornado after it passed!! It was such a large tornado that those winds were almost as destructive and carried lots of debris!! You were very lucky that day, if you had been about fifteen minutes earlier, you may have been right in the middle of it!! The hail was always to the north of the tornado! You know that the size of hail is determined by the updraft, so the higher the updraft, the bigger the hail is coming down!! I saw where some hail that day was as big as golf balls!! Now that would definitely hurt!! Great videos! I’ve really enjoyed them!! By the way it looked like you were coming from the South? At first I thought you were driving to Joplin from OK on I44, but then I noticed the exit to 32nd street, and that could only be from Neosho? Was just wondering? Did you finally make it to your destination that day? We were without power for some time that day, so I feel I lost a lot of information I never knew before!! We were lucky, the tornado hit a few blocks from our home!! We live behind Freeman, and it was frightening that day!! I’ll never forget how dark it got!! I think that still stands out the most to me after all this time!! The darkness and the sound of jet engines at an airport!! In our home, we have a safe room downstairs in my husbands office thru the walk-in closet! When we bought our home in 2009, that was the one feature that sold me!! Our old home was destroyed that day on S. Kingsdale! In fact, it was one of the first neighborhoods to be hit that day!! The only place you could go for safety was in the bathroom!! Thank goodness the people who lived there were out of town that day!! I had heard we lost a young girl my grand daughter used to play with, a few houses away from us!! Here’s something for you I found strange!! After the tornado, I heard a lot of our old neighbors divorced!! I wonder if that is a normal occurrence after a disaster?? It might be something to look in too? But then, there may not be any correlation at all!! It’s still interesting though! Thanks again for sharing! I’m sure it’s a day you won’t forget either!!

Must've been a terrifying experience coupled with witnessing the aftermath of what this mile-plus wide monster did to Joplin. The concealment of the tornado by rain must've been so disorienting, as opposed to seeing the actual funnel(s) like with bad tornados in Moore OK, Tuscaloosa AL, and etc, where you can see where the immediate threats to safety exist. For all intents and purposes, the Joplin tornado might as well have been at night!

@@keithlife1 Heather H Another commenter here is right, that black mass on the right here in the beginning of this video is 100% the tornado. This tornado gained a lot of strength very quickly and was wrapped by rain (so getting a visual of it was very hard). Even though some in the city ignored tornado sirens it is also very hard to prepare for something like that anyway. I know this is old, but a lot of others didn't know it was a tornado either.

I tried this myself after viewing your video, it worked of course. In my case the nest was very close to the house and the yellow jackets did not flock to the bate as yours did, I never saw more than 2 bees at a time visiting the bate. It took about 5 days before all activity ceased at the nests entrance... but it absolutely worked.

I found Pet Armor Plus at Walmart for $27.54. Three tubes of fipronil included. Tried one can of chicken/tuna cat food as bait but the yellow jackets showed no interest. A&W Root Beer gets some takers, as does apple juice. After a few days, we have very few yellow jackets!

Fipronil is readily available OTC in many topical flea/tick products for dogs and cats. I work at a vet clinic and I want to protect my coworkers from getting stung as they walk dogs in the backyard of the kennel. Has anyone ever used the product lufenuron as a poison for the bait? I know that lufenuron is a chitin synthesis inhibitor so it may work pretty well, and it comes in meat-flavored doses for the dogs already! This should be fun to try next week.

Hi, I thought I'd pop in and comment that stopping under an overpass may seem like a good idea, but the way overpasses are designed may actually make it much more dangerous. They are built with funnel-like abutments (sloped sides) on both sides which can amplify the winds if a tornado passes too close. I've seen vehicles pulled out of garages, rolled more than a block away, or tossed up into the air. An underpass is not a safe place to be, especially if it makes those kinds of winds stronger. There's another downside. When people cluster under an overpass, they block off the highways and can be struck by cars coming up behind them in poor visibility, just like a white-out in winter causes pile-ups. Also, blocked overpasses mean that a lot of people will be unable to seek better shelter. This was the case in Moore, Oklahoma a few years back, when they had a huge tornado come through and on its way, it rolled over the interstate. The overpasses were jammed with cars, and others trying to flee the city were gridlocked behind them, unable to move at all. The tornado rolled over a large number of them, throwing them off the highway, or crushing them against poles or other vehicles. The last place you want to be is in your car with a tornado in the neighborhood. I've said my 2cents worth, so now I will thank you for your video, and move on. Thanks!

I guess all the neighbors doing the same thing really widened the kill perimeter for nests and they have dissappeared! Keith

IT WORKS! IT WORKS! IT WORKS! 4 yellowjacket nests GONE in 2 days! I am so impressed! The bottle is SO big, I'll never use it all! Sharing really helped me pay for the big bottle of Taurus SC! Just please remember to remove the baits at night because, raccoon, possum, bear, coyote and fox will screw up you bait cage at night! Also, it's helpful to place the bait right on top of the nest hole (early in the morning), if you know where it's located! That will aggravate them into taking the bait faster! FYI...slugs LOVE the stuff, too!

I'm trying this right now. I have a yellow jackets nest under my shed. I put the bait trap not too far from the entrance and the wasps have been taking the bait. It's only been about 18 hours, so I am awaiting to see if this works. Hornets also chew the siding on my shed to build their nests, so I hope they too will take the bait. Thanks for posting this. Follow up. There is no more traffic from the entrance. This is a great method!

Nice video. A couple of comments, if you don't mind: - Any time you need to remove the fuel pump it's best to tip the tank up. Once you remove the bottom tank mounting screws as well as a few other things, access is much better. See here for complete details: advrider.com/index.php?threads/ktm-690e-fuel-pump-fi-issues.641042/page-12#post-31165299 - There is an external fuel filter option. Search for Golan Mini-filter. The in-tank filter is removed, and then the lines are rejoined with a barb or submersible fuel line, etc... - The two holes in the bottom of the plastic housing that holds the fuel pump is not the only way the pump draws fuel in. You'll notice that there are two hoses that attach to the top area of the pump. One line is the feed, it attaches directly to the pump, goes to the regulator and then exits the tank to the injector. The other line comes from the regulator and attaches to the cap on top of the fuel pump. This is the return line and pumps excess fuel by-passed from the feed line inside the regulator. This serves two purposes: to feed fuel back to the pump and to cool the pump. There are issues with the OEM pump failing, and some people feel that extra holes assist in cooling. I'm not convinced...
