I honestly don't know what to make of it. But I also do agree we basically all of what you said about it including what you said about HN1 and HN2 and why we shouldn't necessarily "trust" them to hold it together and make HN3 good.

Back when Hello Neighbor was actually good. During Pre Alpha, Alpha 1 and Alpha 2, Hello Neighbor was a real horror game, the art style and atmosphere were appropriate, and the Neighbor's AI got smarter everytime you got caught. Meaning he would smartly lock doors, block windows, place traps and cameras so you can't use the same route to complete the game. Not to mention the chase music. But when Alpha 3 came out, it became more of a puzzle game than a horror game. The art style was changed to some kind of cartoony design, the Neighbor's house became a weird complex mansion, there were some overly hard and illogical puzzles, and the Neighbor only roamed at the entrance of the "house", and all he would do is place cameras in the same exact place when you got caught. Alpha 4 and the whole Beta took the same exact model of this house. When the full game was released, it seemed that a deep lore was placed in the game, but everything was revealed to be a dream Nicky Roth (the character you play as) had, making the lore somewhat useless. And after the full game, more confusing and overall bad Hello Neighbor games such as Secret Neighbor, Hello Neighbor Hide and Seek, Hello Guest, Hello Neighbor 2 and Hello Neighbor VR were released. Also TinyBuild (the company who produced this game) desperately wanted MatPat to figure the lore out. (Not to mention that MatPat retired from KZbin) I really wish Hello Neighbor would stay the same as it was in it's early Alphas. It's my opinion.
