Or he didn't kill her and was just always abusive cause like I said in my previous comment he's probably an alcoholic and her death might have excacerbated it and he probably blamed charles for his wife's death and abuses him as a result

This is a very sad episode and it is implied that Charles dad might have killed his mom by beating her to death cause he's probably an alcoholic and parents who are alcoholics are usually abusive to their children which is why he abused charles
