Was waiting til the end to see how you got home. No bother with bikes on the train? Gravel bike needed or can you get away with a road bike?
@OnTwoWheels7774 ай бұрын
Definitely get away with road bikes. Though gravel would be a bit more comfortable in parts. My battery died so couldn’t capture any more footage of the journey home. We had booked two places for the bikes but they were taken by others when we got on. Don’t matter too much as we got seats close to them then the other people got off and we were able to secure ours. It was a nice and easy option to get back.

Great video and really good that you enjoyed your advanced ride. Hope you do go on to take the full course and share your journey here on your channel as you did such a good job with this one and you would be a great ambassador for advanced riding and all the benefits it brings. Curious about the right foot comment though. Yes you should be able to use either left or right depending on the circumstances and the rear brake gives a smooth finish to braking but then you’re left doing the ‘Hendon shuffle’ to be able to select neutral or first. I guess this is where the old saying ‘it depends’ enters the conversation along with the thinking rider’. Either way, keep up the good work and ride safe👍

@erkutgurun Жыл бұрын
You surprised me there. I thought you were going to go for the F750GS. The XR is an even better bike IF you have the roads to give it the speed it desires, and IF you have an iron backside coz it's not the most comfortable bike. A much more comfortable competitor could be the Ducati Multistrada V2 S. With a more upright and comfortable sitting position, a very comfy seat and with all the bells and whistles. Ride it if you get a chance. You could also save yourself some edit time and get more viewers, if one day you decide to not be so shy add some beautiful Irish audio ;) Cheerio!
@OnTwoWheels777 Жыл бұрын
I have ridden the MultiV2, cracking bike. I also tried the Yamaha Tracer and Tiger 900. The F900 was the pick for me. I did feel that the seat was surprisingly hard for a sports tourer but over 1,000km in and a longish ride of about 3hrs it was actually quite comfortable, I do have extra cushioning myself so that might have helped :-)

I have owned the F750GS TE from new for nearly 2 years now, a great bike, did Land's to John O Groats via Wales doing 2.5k miles around the UK, I am also planning to do the Pyrenees late September down through France to Spain across Andorra then back up through France, these are great all round bikes, 853cc motor and handle brilliantly, I have changed a lot on mine though, if you were to change anything on the 750gs though, front springs suspension is a must to reduce the dive on the front and better handling.

Only 2 weeks for the next one. My first time and going for the 167. I am familiar with the area, but curious how hard it will be to manage the time cuts.🤞 Looking very much forward to it!
@OnTwoWheels777 Жыл бұрын
Oh lucky you! I’m so jealous, I wish I was doing it again this year. You’ll be fine with the cut offs. The first one IMO is the tightest but you have a lot of flat riding before Coll de Femenia which should comfortably bring up your average speed to get to Gorg Blau in plenty of time. My tip would be to get to the start in good time so you’re not at the back of thousands starting off. Bring a top layer with you as it is usually always chilly at 6am in April there! I wish you the best of luck and enjoy every minute of it. It’s a really special Sportive, a privilege to ride the route on closed roads.
