Just a suggestion. I lined my lower barrel with fire brick so it wouldn’t burn out.

Believe it or not you'd be better off sucking the air from the floor. By grabbing the cold air from the floor you warm up all the air in the building. If that makes any sense. Good job thanks for the video

Place sand under the grill in the bottom barrel as it prevents bottom burn out and makes the barrel last longer !!!

So this was done in 2016, you should do a update with it in action and show digital temps and how it has done for the past 2 years. I have a double barrel heater and I like the duct fan concept.

How did you seal the air tube into the barrel

What are you using for inside pipe? I really like the simplicity, I want an outside burner in a shelter to pump heat into my garage.

I'm guessing the bottom stove pipe runs through the top barrel and your fan blows around the stove pipe in the top barrel, correct

I'm thinking those two fan intakes join into the one air outlet. Why not just blow a big fan over the whole thing, less complicated.

Well done! I built the same barrel but without the upper barrel ducts. I put a floor fan behind mine to get a draft across it. I have a 25 x 35 ft non-insulated detached garage and I have no issue warming it. A $80 pickup truck load of hardwood goes a long ways. For paint I used Rustoleum Ultra BBQ paint. It's been on there three winters now without burning off. At the end of winter I do clean it up, touch up the paint, and move it aside.

Add me to the list wondering how the two rear ducts and side ducts connect without picking up smoke. T-connection and 90 degree elbows? Only Jimmy Alder knows!
