Why are you not allowing individuals whom were considered essential workers throughout the pandemic to apply and benefit from a two year grant regardless of where they pursing education. Limiting this grant to only community colleges is intentionally excluding those essential workers who want to pursue a vocation which cannot be obtained at the community college level. A grant for Frontliners should allow them to apply the grant at any vocational, community college or state university they seek to pursue. Once again the state discriminates unfairly it's essential workers. How about helping those essential workers who are carrying student loans the equivalent of the two year grant towards their current loans. You need to broaden the scope of this grant.

Eileen - We don't have any control over this program, but we do support it as a way to increase college enrollment and support our essential workers. We also believe that a 2-year degree from a community college can be a valuable bridge to a 4-year institution. You can learn more about the program here: www.michigan.gov/frontliners
