That is one awesome collection of beautiful vehicles. I am, like you are, a rare lover of those Oldsmobile diesels. I have a few myself.

I have a 1980 5.7 d. Cutlass. It always starts in less than a second even after sitting over the winter. I'm using it as a summer car. I need the vacuum parts that hoses are hooked up to at the throttle body and a cap for the washer fluid reservoir. Because of vacuum leaks my TH200 only shifts up after I lift of the gas pedal on high rpm's. No, it's not the modulator since it never had any. The Chevy pick-up sounded like it had a misaligned starter or something. Made that typical noise from the fly wheel/starting gear. Cool video. No one will ever duplicate it!

And Jaguar my 1973 Series one has this compressor. Does anyone know where I can get a seal kit? My front seal has gone on two units I have so it is time to strip and rebuild them back to useable. Your assistance greatly appreciated. Regards, Chris

Any G.M. dealership and parts store. Same compressor as any chevy, Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Cadillac of the same year. Also your transmission is a G.M. T.H. -400 and your power steering pump.

A friend has a 1979 Cadillac Brougham DeElegance diesel. Originally it was the service managers car special ordered with every option. In 1986 With only 25k miles the engine was replaced with a Target master DX block. Owner passed away in 1987 his wife kept it for 32 yrs in the garage. My friend bought it with only 27k miles. The new engine had only 2k miles on it. It’s a gorgeous car.

I have a 82 delta 88 with the 350 diesel and I love it I got it dirt cheap at an auction non running and all I did was put batteries and a shot of either and it fired up and ran, now I’ve done glow plugs and it starts faster than any other vehicle on the property

Good afternoon. I wish you well. I know there isn't many used GM diesels out there. However have you seen any lately. Last one I saw was 1981 Buick Riviera on Hagerty's site.

There is a guy on Facebook on the page Oldsmobile Diesel who has a Cutlass Supreme that he is trying to sell, I referred him to your KZbin channel in case you want another one. He seems pretty desperate to sell it. You were the first person I thought of. It looks clean from the pictures. It has the Calais steering wheel. White/ burgundy.

Very cool! I miss my 81 Delta 88 2 door. I bought it with 85K miles and blown head gaskets. A simple swap to a set of ARP racing head studs and a proper fuel/water separator and I put over 125K commuting miles on it in the early 2000s. Those 2 simple upgrades would have kept many of these on the road, especially the water separator. I spoke with an old GM mechanic years ago and he said he felt slugs of water being injected were the cause of most early gasket failures

Your video is one of the only ones I could find that featured the RARE '79 Olds 261 4.3 DIESEL. Definitely not many were made and even fewer are left. Did these have the head bolt issues of the early 350 diesels? Just curious. Not too much info on them since they were only made for such a short amount of time.

I’m glad these things are being preserved by some dedicated enthusiast. That being said, it was an embarrassing attempt by GM to make a luxury Diesel. Mercedes-Benz successfully Dieselized the passenger car in an era where most other manufacturers (save for Peugeot and Isuzu) absolutely shat the bed.

To die for!!! what an amazing sound!!! I love the 80 and 81 grill best!!! Clearly the original owners of this beautiful 98 babied this car and gave it the best love with fluid changes and all, I bet he let it warm up 10 minuets at a minimum and checked the fluids each trip and was very particular where he got the fuel from...tens of thousands of these cars could have still been on the road if they had received just half of the love this car has enjoyed and continues to enjoy under your ownership.. great to see it being out of the Texas sun also!!

Despite all the things that could have been designed better about these engines, Oldsmobile knocked it out of the park with the starting process/ability from 80-85 when everything was working correctly
