So how do you use the sieve? Is a (1) leave in the copepod habitat and remove as needed or (2) use the sieve to scoop out the copepods?
@alexsilasi6302 ай бұрын
Do you have any experience raising blenny fry? I've tried in the past, but now I'm thinking they might need S-strain rotifers. The eggs are round and damn tiny, and the fry are smaller than clownfish fry...

How do you keep the tank so neat with heavy feedings
@BriansAquariums2 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if you are asking about my big tank or the fry tank. The fry tank, I just set up an hour or so before the video, so it's clean for now, lol. My big tank I only feed about a thumbnail size of LRS Reef Frenzy daily. My 2 clowns and 2 tangs devour that in about 30 seconds.
@DerfOrNuffin2 ай бұрын
Did they lay eggs right away on the tile? And did you have to give them privacy? What do you feed.
@BriansAquariums2 ай бұрын
@reallyreallypanda8969 This is their 3rd clutch so far. They kept laying on tye one spot on one of my rocks. So I put a tile there, hoping they would lay some on the tile. The reason I added the tile is I have been unable to time it properly to catch the fry hatching in the big tank. I figure if I have the fry on the tile in the fry tank, I won't miss the hatch this time. I feed LRS Reef Frenzy one time daily. Roughly a chunk the size of my index finger thumbnail.
@DerfOrNuffin2 ай бұрын
@BriansAquariums Big tanks really clean. I've been feeding mine twice a day. I want to clean so badly but I've read to leave them alone. I thought I had one spawn but the eggs were tiny l, after seeing yours I'm not sure if it even was a spawn. The male wouldn't leave the spot and both were crazy territorial. Just asking how everyone cleans they're fry tanks. I feel like it takes a few hours every day for me to clean fry tanks trying to find a trick to speed it up, with least losses or fry in the water change bucket. Props the everything looks really good!!

Please don't use tape on any circuit that will be over an open body of water or near especially saltwater.. it's extremely corrosive to electrical components. Soldering is easy and you can pick up a cheap solder gun with solder for under 20 bucks. If you don't know how to solder you can learn in under 5 minutes.

Question.. can different species of pods be cultivated in the same vessel ? and is a rotifer a pod species? and can rotifiers be mixed in the same vessel with the pods also, having one community vessel for all of them Thanks
@BriansAquariums4 ай бұрын
I've never tried it. I would think the faster reproducing ones would slowly outcompete the slower ones. I don't believe rotifers are in the same family as cooepods. I would be on the safe side and culture each organism in different vessels. Think of it as an insurance policy in case one culture crashes.
@weggy34 ай бұрын
good idea and I agree.. thanks for the response@@BriansAquariums
I've looked into it, but people want things cheaper than the kits cost. I asked on several forums, fb and youtube, and people want cheaper than I can get the items for. Even though they will end up paying the same price buying in parts.
