What a great concert by the Oakridge Boys! That was when Joe Bonsall was in good health and still singing. It's good to go back and remins from the gone by days!

Ben James has studyed Joe Bonsall's tenor singing voice and has learned all the high parts of the Oakridge Boys' songs! No he is not Joe but he can really sing the tenor part very well!

I wonder how long Ben quietly "auditioned" to eventually be an Oak Ridge Boy? Just him and his voice, and the songs. Duane said he's so natural that they've never had to have a rehearsal. I'm so glad Ben said YES when Joe asked him to put on those "singin' britches!" He can melt butter with that voice. Thanks to Ben, the harmonies continue!!!

I saw an interview recently of the Oak Ridge Boys at the CMA awards this year. Duane said that Joe essentially chose Ben to replace him.

@howardburnham1502 the whole show has been downsized. I noticed that the last couple of shows I'd went to this summer. They only are running 1 bus now and I had heard it's on a as needed basis.

Jim, with all due respect, I kindly ask that you stop posting the same comment on every video featuring Richard. You’ve already done this three times on my Oaks channel, and I’ve responded each time. The Oak Ridge Boys are not going to replace their bass singer of 50 years with some random person. Richard has done an incredible job, and if you disagree, that’s your opinion-but please keep it to yourself. Some of these videos are managed by Oak Ridge Boys staff and even the band members themselves. How do you think they feel seeing comments like yours?

@@BackupChannel12Aaron McCune is an excellent bass, would probably be the logical choice for a replacement Oaks bass, but the ONLY way they'll replace Richard Sterban is if and when he passes away- Richard is a legend, and doing an awesome job!!

This video demonstrates why Joe was the soul of the ORB. Even when his health was declining and he could barely stand, there was still this magical quality about him that produced smiles in everyone around him. Nobody knows where a gift like that comes from, we only know it can’t be taught. I’m sorry you’re gone, buddy. I know you wanted the group to go on but they’re barely a shadow of what they were with you. I don’t think you understood just how special you were.

Jimmy Fortune is not even close to the same sound as what Ben James' voice is. They both have their own unique sound! Some fans have texted that they can hear Joe Bonsall singing when Ben sings the tenor part. I can tell between the two of them! Yes I miss Joe and his beautiful tenor voice but with him gone they needed a new guy and he became the newest tenor singer for the Oakridge Boys! I think that he does a fantastic job on it. Very well done Ben!
