The only health food store I shop at is Bonne Sante in Hyde Park but I want to support black business like I once did. I am not sure if Bonne Sante is black owned. Where are you located??

We should treat each other with basic human respect, but purposeful disregard for proper grammar is, itself, a very disrespectful way to treat other people. No matter what you call it, or reasons given as an excuse, incorrect English grammar is incorrect English grammar. Incorrect use of English grammar is not a different language, it is a perpetual bad habit. Of course, we need to be considerate of other people's feelings, but feelings should not be used as a way to continue with improper use of English grammar. Feelings are no excuse to disregard the truth. Our choices bear consequences. If you disregard propriety with impropriety, then that is what you can expect to receive in return. If you wish to be respected as an intelligent being, then speak as one who is intelligent and self-disciplined enough to learn and use proper grammar. If you elect to do otherwise, then you can logically expect to be regarded as ignorant, for speaking as one who is ignorant of proper English grammar. Cause and effect, people, it is that simple.

Its fine to speak ebonic. Just don't expect businesses to be fine with it. Then it becomes a choice. Importantly, the world is bigger than America. Ebonics won't fly internationally.

I have been harassed when I was homeless dealing with a mental health disability and addiction. The police continuously arrested me because I was walking around in public singing. I did nothing to no one. They pepper sprayed me in jail, put a bag over my head and snapped a photo of me. They gave me a paper suit to put on that hardly covered my body and put me in a cell without a mat or blanket. I was also in drug induced psychosis. These things happened repeatedly to me. It still haunts me today and knowing I will never get any justice for it.

If this was posted 7 years ago, why am I the first to comment? I saw this happening in the late '90s on Galveston Island. People from outside with money were buying the beautiful old homes near the coast and turning them into glamourous vacation rentals. I thought it was a great idea at first but then on the street, I heard someone talking about the sales of homes causing a problem for people selling their homes because the sellers did not get enough money to purchase another home, or their credit was not high enough. I further noticed that the homes being sold were in a primarily Black community and all of us vacationers were white. That haunted me ever since I made that observation. At the time nobody seemed to be concerned when I mentioned it. I thought to myself, "I guess that's just how they do it in Texas." Well, now it has come to my State of Washington and all over the USA. I didn't see it coming until it rolled right up to my doorstep. They keep calling wanting to purchase my house, even sending a contract wanting me to sign it. INSULT! The next person who calls wanting to buy my house, I will tell them to go recertificate their face and get a tummy tuck! They is basically, give the poor a little money for their real estate and then go get richer!" This is an excellent video.

When Reginald Lionel Brown GAVE this interview his CHILD was 1 1/2 years old and he had DUMPED me pregnant after dating 3 years and knowing him since he was ASSISTANT BASKETBALL COACH AT SDSU in 1996. he CHANGED his PHONE NUMBER AND told me he would have NOTHING to do with JAYCEE HOPE DIONNE if I didn't KILL HER BEFORE SHE WAS BORN. He is a FAKE AND A LIAR and although is quite successful sends NO CHILD SUPPORT. This community is so backwards and MESSED up that you support losers like this. SMH. He has A COLLECTION of over 300 Air Jordans but JAYCEE who is now 13 years old with NO FATHER and NO FAMILY has ONE. HE is PROUD of that. Disgusting.

I'm from South East Asia, and I need to know if it is that weird and embarassing in US or UK to speak English in-for example--Philipino or Indonesian accent? Does it really matter to speak in US or British accent? Because in fact, this accent stuff what makes most of us as foreign learners feel shy and not confident to continue studying English just because we cannot speak as fluent as US or British people, furthermore many of us still get confused with the grammar itself.
@Jarrd2602 жыл бұрын
Honestly, for the most part, people don't really care how you sound when you talk around here. It's a part of your personality that make you unique, and a lot of people like something different; like an accent from out of region.

I speak with slang sometimes with my friends, but when I'm doing something for business, I make sure it's super prim and proper. Not a single comma is out of place in those instances.

It's simple we need more Whites, and Asians living on the south and west sides. We also need more jobs and commerce on those sides of town. Then that will diversify the city. Problem solved. We are all humans. We needs to learn to live amongst each other. Hyde Park is great example of this. Very diverse neighborhood. Other neighborhoods need to follow suit.
