Hi Judy! Apologies for the delay in responding, life has been very hectic with moving and renovating. Here’s a video on color mixing: Acrylic pouring ~ Custom color mixing - why and how I do it - acrylic pouring fluid art kzbin.info/www/bejne/boWWhq2aYtZmndE As for the consistency for my flick technique, unfortunately I won’t have a chance to do a video on it for a while. But I can tell you that for this technique, the consistency should be on the thicker side. Like what you would use for a ring pour, but also a much thicker consistency will work. Keep using good quality paints, they have a much higher pigment density and also much better binders than hobby paints. Also, their light fastness tends to be superior. I prefer to use mainly opaque paints because then there are less surprises during drying. Now, for making mud. This happens a LOT in fluid art and especially in the beginning. To avoid making mud, think about the color wheel. Which colors make brown? Red, blue, and yellow mixed together. So you want to avoid using all those colors together. Look for the pigment info in your paints and avoid using ones that have a lot of different pigments, this will give you a much better shot at not creating mud. If you want to use colors in one painting that would normally create brown, try separating them with neutral colors (such as black or white). Hope all this helps!
