Hope your business trip went well! Cool I'm from St Louis I was reading the comments that you were in St Louis area. I am now in Florida. I just discovered you and watching your videos they are great. I am new to painting and having great difficulty with paint consistency and making mud. Please can you do a video of paint consistency? I'm trying to do the Flick Technique and have no idea whether the paint should be thick or thin. If you could show a close up of the paint consistency where the paint runs off the popsicle stick and if it leaves a mound or not that would be most helpful. Also tips on mixing colors so I Don't get mud and how to use transparent or opaque paints together. I just saw your video of single pigment versus multiple pigments very interesting. Thank you so very much I have subscribed and liked your videos. Hope to see video on paint consistency for Flick Technique as well as other techniques such as flip cup & Dutch pour. Thanks for all your information and hard work.

Great video! Have not seen anyone else talk about single pigment vs multiple pigments Very interesting and helpful because I seem to create mud a lot I use a lot of Amsterdam and Windsor in Newton because they're better brands They have more pigments or because maybe they have more colors than you get into several pigments I am just learning and making many mistakes and cannot get the paint consistency right and make mud very often I am trying to do the flick art and have not seen a video from anyone on the pink consistency so I don't know if it's thin like a Dutch pour or thicker like a flip cup Can you do a video showing the paint consistency up close for the flick technique you know where you're showing up close to paint running off a popsicle stick to see if it leaves a mound That would really help me Also video on color theory and mixing colors so you are not making mud and the way to use transparent and opaque paints together thank you thank you

Hi Judy! Apologies for the delay in responding, life has been very hectic with moving and renovating. Here’s a video on color mixing: Acrylic pouring ~ Custom color mixing - why and how I do it - acrylic pouring fluid art kzbin.info/www/bejne/boWWhq2aYtZmndE As for the consistency for my flick technique, unfortunately I won’t have a chance to do a video on it for a while. But I can tell you that for this technique, the consistency should be on the thicker side. Like what you would use for a ring pour, but also a much thicker consistency will work. Keep using good quality paints, they have a much higher pigment density and also much better binders than hobby paints. Also, their light fastness tends to be superior. I prefer to use mainly opaque paints because then there are less surprises during drying. Now, for making mud. This happens a LOT in fluid art and especially in the beginning. To avoid making mud, think about the color wheel. Which colors make brown? Red, blue, and yellow mixed together. So you want to avoid using all those colors together. Look for the pigment info in your paints and avoid using ones that have a lot of different pigments, this will give you a much better shot at not creating mud. If you want to use colors in one painting that would normally create brown, try separating them with neutral colors (such as black or white). Hope all this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions ❤️
