This man gets so much credit, but his creations wouldn’t have been anything without the writers that came after him. Take X Men; X Men wouldn’t have been anything without Chris Claremont. Or Spiderman without Roger Stern. Or Daredevil without Frank Miller.

Doctor Doom is not a villain. He's not cruel for the sake of cruelty, he does what he needs to do and does it effectively. And not to mention his rule of Latveria is proof enough that he could make the world a better place if given the time.

Dr doom might be the greatest villain Jack Kirby created. Most of the legendary villains in comics are created by Jack and Stan like darkseid, doom, kang.

He is opposed to all the "heroes" of his world which makes him oppositional according to all those "heroes". His very existence questions their validity as heroes at all, treating (most of) them as an afterthought and treating (most of) the regular people of the world as the priority. That's what makes him different from most of comiclanding. It's the dichotomy as a foil to the standard way of events.

Treating the "special people" as equally unimportant (with the exception of richards in most storylines) is what sets him apart seeming egomaniacal. If a god or whatever else, he just treats them as another person-regular to serve his ultimate will and intentions. There's something admirable to that, perhaps amplified by all the gall received in response to that.

I’m watching the OG SPIDER-MAN cartoon w DOOM in it, what are y’all talking about saying he’s never done anything?!? The bad mofo just shot up the UNITED NATIONS when they disagreed w him and blew up the convention center? DOOM always does something evil or is trying to, da fuq is he talking about? No hate, just don’t get the analysis of him being not a bad guy, when he’s PURE EVIL, and acts on it from old cartoons to current. Also RIP MF DOOM. Truest villain.

Dr doom is by far the most dangerous marvel villain. Reasons -reprogrammed ultron to serve him. -killed thanos -absorbed the power of silver surfer and even galactus -can not get corrupted by infinity gauntlet -can’t get hit by thors hammer -his tech is unhackable -magic user on dr strange level -has seen every possible timeline in marvel universe. -has diplomatic immunity and has right to rule the earth

Most people consider Magneto to be Marvel's greatest villain, but Stan never thought of him as a bad guy. Doctor Doom on the other hand is pretty much the template of what all comic book villains are based on (the same way all heroes are loosely based on Superman), basically the way Lee says it; he's just walking up to police officers shouting 'I WANT TO RULE THE WORLD!!', he seems like a fun guy to have a drink with really.

@Kevin Byrnes Nah, I'd say his biggest flex would have to be when he got to say this to Reed: "Enjoy your family, Richards. And remember every time you look on them, that Doom saved them both. When once before, you could not." And Doom got to say that line because he saved Sue's life while she was pregnant with a baby girl. And all Doom wanted in return for saving Sue & her unborn baby? The right to name the child (which essentially meant that he made himself their baby's Godfather, so that if anything ever happened to Reed & Sue, Doom would become the girl's legal guardian), and the name that he chose for her was Valeria. And Doom is extremely protective and doting towards her (and Valeria reciprocates and is likewise very fond of her "uncle" Doom), to the point that threatening or endangering her is a guaranteed way to get Doom *royally pissed off* at you. Do anything to hurt or endanger Valeria, and Doom will literally hunt you to the ends of the Earth and beyond to make you answer for it.

No other marvel villain can compete with Dr Doom. This guy has managed to out smart the best of them, has a will that puts Galactus and Purple Man's powers to shame, and can make some of the most powerful heroes like hulk, Thor, and silver surfer, grovel on the floor. Who does that?

@@isaiahkayode6526 yeah he did, He didn't give credit for the artists when they plot the stories for him Because he doesnt want to split his writing paycheck with them he was already getting two more paychecks as editor and art director , Jack Kirby Steve Ditko, Wally Wood left marvel over that, Stan Lee didn't create anything impactful when they left Ravage? Stripperella? She-hulk?
