Believe it or not, 32278 was actually in sequence up in Rotherham, it was their 31136. It seems that in the early days they wanted to keep 30xxx and 31xxx for the northern and Scottish operations and then 32xxx for the rest.
@bristoltransport3 жыл бұрын
You're quite right - even more interestingly, it actually carried 31136 when it first arrived in Bristol, and the native WR03 batch (32279-92) were also delivered and entered service with fleetnumbers in the 31--- sequence

Lovely bus but the preservation society needs to teach the driver how to change gear, he's slamming it straight through, which in a vehicle that old is going to wreck the gearbox. Show some respect!

I remember breaking a BOU coming out Failand when the airbag on the rear right decided to protest it's air, dragged it all the way out to Clevedon, rang recovery and when it was loaded on the flatbed, took half the road with it *sigh* Miss those days

I wouldn’t call that musical. More that’s been really poorly maintained. Was also new to Manchester then moved to Southampton 2009/2010ish. Same time they moved the late 667**s - 66837 over to the East of England from Manchester
@ChilternTransportProductions4 жыл бұрын
It’s not that bad. 66720 at Wells and 66937 at Bath are much worse But it’s still fucked regardless

Bristol Transport I guess you can't complain much, at least you don't have a class 230.

So the new Electrostars serve London, Bristol gets the Turbostars and Cornwall gets the 150's? Not a bad reshuffle, I prefer the turbostars to the crappy 150's...
@bristoltransport6 жыл бұрын
HMSDaring1 Personally, I don't like the Turbos (not Turbostars - they're class 377 and the like), seats are uncomfortable, aircon is poor even when working, acceleration is poor (leading to many late running journeys) and they're far too big. They'd be better suited to Taunton or Wales work for example where the capacity is needed. Currently those workings are predominantly Sprinters and Super Sprinters

Crumbs 😱. How much horsepower does this bus have? A much older Volvo B10M City bus double-decker would've probably done that hill climb no problem!
@bristoltransport7 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Hurd It's certainly lost a fair bit over the years, certainly unusually sluggish for a Cummins L10 engined Olympian. There's a video of a Leyland one with an L10, CRZ 9320 from memory, on my channel, preformed very differently!
@Shunterinred6 жыл бұрын
Mitchell Hurd it’s because drivers leave the bus in drive going up the hills. When the smarter ones stick it in 1 or 2 on the selector , it flies up

66191 & 66192 are still going strong with "First" 'Buses Of Somerset'. 66183 has been transferred up to "First" Manchester for use as a Training Vehicle. 66183/191/192 were upgraded to DDA compliance, why didn't all "First" company's do that?
@bristoltransport7 жыл бұрын
Max Ganesh Do you mean 62191/2 rather than 66191/2? And 62183 etc... BoS tend to have older vehicles as they make less profit than most other parts of First, so while other areas could afford new/newer cascaded buses, BoS upgraded the older ones. some other parts of First did this though, such as Manchester (they have X699 ADK still in use) and South Yorkshire I believe (W- DWXs, R7-- WKWs and R912 BOU still in use)

@RWL20127 жыл бұрын
Swansea Bus Videos The L-reg one was revving higher than I thought they could!
@MB-qo5rx5 жыл бұрын
The way the R reg one is started & rev'ed up, shows a lack of understanding for a Turbocharged Diesel, & lack of respect of the bus in general. As the industry would say "A good example of a BAD driver", even worse when you know the group that now own's her. I'd guess a lack of pride in the job, if it's a bus driver. The oil needs to circulate, including the turbo, and no need to rev that much, ideally let the air build up with the engine on tick over.

Great videos, I love the DB250's. Shame there weren't more equipped with the ZF gearbox as they seem to be better suited to the engine. I don't know if anyone will be interested but thanks to a few friends I have managed to acquire ex Abus DAF SB220 R981 FNW for preservation. Thanks :)
@bristoltransport8 жыл бұрын
Ah, thanks for that, I was wondering who owned her, she's an ex-Abus vehicle too. There is a step entrance with Abus that has a ZF gearbox, L124 ELJ. It was out on this day but I didn't get a go sadly.
@NorthEastbuses018 жыл бұрын
R981 has been saved from scrap twice haha. The guy I bought it from had saved it from the scrap yard, however he was having issues with the company that he was storing it with as they were becoming increasingly awkward so I ended up buying it from him, because if I hadn't bought it then it would have went for scrap that day.
