The Core of Engineers did a real number on this lake and Bull Shoals in summer of 2022. Despite slightly lower than avg. rainfall in the region during the spring and summer, they proceeded to flood these lakes more than what had been seen for years. Well understand they control the water levels all the time for flood control in other areas that connect to these bodies of water and power generation, but it was near criminal what they did in 2022 and 2020 as well. We are used to quite dramatic changes in the water levels but not this much in what was a somewhat dry spring and especially summer period. Shame on them

We visited Castle Combe in April, it was a beautiful village but seemed to have no life, no beating heart if you will. It was eerily silent.

C'est très beau mais vivre dans de si vieilles maisons collées les unes aux autres je crois que cela ne me plairait pas mais le village est joli et semble sorti du moyen âge

I wonder how these Century Villages survive. Its hard enough that everything is old and outdated. How do those owners survive isolated like that? Sure it looks picturesque and a throwback to a bygone era but this is 2023 not early 1800s.

The houses, or lodges on the high street are quite nice inside. I had the opportunity to go inside one, and it was lovely.

We are never far away from a town in the country side ! What do you mean how do they survive? Most of them are rich people the houses are expensive I should think the old villagers are long gone ! They also own restaurants pubs they have a lot of tourists ! I was there last week my brother lives near there it’s thriving!🏴🌹

The house I was invited to see inside was much bigger than I would have thought, with big rooms and all modern amenities, it was very comfortable. The homeowners have cars and money so they can come and go as they like.

@@scenicwalks2286 yes they have modern kitchens and bathrooms put in lots of us live in old houses but they are clean and updated inside but we keep original beams etc my house is only 70years my friend has a Tudor cottage .

Thank you for the video. Nice to hear the birds and other wildlife. A toast in remembrance to the ancient villagers who toiled for more that 2000 years whose graves and names and faces are lost to time and whose more recent offsprings' intricate gravestones are almost barely legible but well-tended, next to a church in which so many of life's important ceremonies and lessons transpired, for their foresight to make this little corner of Earth so pleasant and peaceful. May these precious villages never change but give us respite and remind us where most of our humble and strong-backed forebears came from
