Just found Justin Adams a little while ago and he's played with such interesting and diverse musicians; so enjoyable to see all of this and love the combination of different music. Thank you for posting this. (from Sandi)

I have listened to and loved Crowded House since the beginning. I also listened to Neil's previous band Split Enz going back to the 70s. I was fortunate to actually meet the band after their show in Boston, MA on their last tour with Paul Hester in 1994. This is just about the pinnacle of a truly great song and live performance. Hauntingly beautiful melodies and lyrics. I find the lyrics incredibly relevant in late 2024, going into 2025. The liars have indeed moved in again......

This is really interesting. On one hand you'd think, what is there to debate? Just play the songs the way they were recorded and played in the 80s. OTOH, since Sting and Stuart are so talented, they can't resist the urge to expand on them in creative but still heavily arranged ways.

Sting decided to make the reunion happen because he was older and had becoming less relevant, he wanted to cash in and he wanted the best part of his musical legacy to be on people's minds again. It was really all ego and money driven. Now they're at an age where they don’t give an eff and they are revered because people are looking at The Police retrospectively. It seems that Andy mostly stayed out of the drama. Stewart and Sting behaved like an old married couple who couldn't stop fighting. That was the real problem.

The group dynamic between these guys is as entertaining as their music is. The entire documentary is also brilliantly edited to make it as funny as possible.

LOL. Copeland saying "we don't have ego clashes" in a documentary that started with a shot of him getting furious because Sting laughed at his drumming and yelling that "modern drummer magazine will be writing about that drum fill". God, I hate Copeland.
@jeezumcrow86552 ай бұрын
Anyone can see that he was joking with Sting. It was a tongue in cheek joke that the drum fill would be written about in “Modern Drummer” magazine. He knows he screwed up the beat but was playing it off in that funny exchange. I’ve watched tons of Stewart’s interviews and he fakes outrage all the time when he talks about he and Sting’s “creative differences” and their friendship outside the studio and it’s always hilarious. 😂

I love how sting is so egastical in his middle age I feel like sting has evolved so much. in his younger years he was still egostistical but also energetic always wanting more and bouncing off the walls but very compromising at the same time. in his middle age era he seems to be a lot more commanding and crazy, He's become a true leader of some sorts. and then now in his 70s he's calm, wise. Still a leader, but he knows not to push limits like he used to Even though it can make sting a jack-ass sometimes that's what makes him a genius, he needs that drive to become the best of the best. the perfectionest in him is what is amazing. (that's just my analysis but I could be wrong)

They should have gone on tour without any rehearsal and just improvise. Everyone knows their tunes and no one will care 😁

It was well known Sting wanted to move on it was not a shock in 84 for anyone that was paying attention. They may have broken up in 84 I remember they toured up through 86.

How do you honestly ask someone to look at you when they sing, because it’s easier to sing together, without it sounding like that, and without getting defensive. Can’t be that bloody hard.

I loved these 3 personalities together. As I heard I think it was Stewart who said we all make music for different reasons and it works so well together. In finding this documentary I see that for them and it did work. I totally love their work in and outside of the band. Love Stewart’s energy and enthusiasm and Andy’s evenness as with Stings semi OCD ways. Lmao It works and glad to have enjoyed them as a band and solo artists. Amazing musicians

I thought for sure they were going to continue touring and even release an album of new material, but it was not to be, this was it. I get it, Stewart may be one of the greatest drummers ever he just drives Sting fucking bonkers lol Sting: " It drives me nuts when you play it like that" Stewart :" I know"
