Hello, do you have any idea how to make characters appear in the middle of the song just like usual SDVX game? (i'm using Heavenly Heaven skin and i think it the game lose a bit of charm without those characters appearing while you're playing haha)

I reallllly hope you still answer comments on this video haha... So this is the ONLY build of one of these which seems to have that 14pin connection between the boards rather than the wired ones everyone else seems to have. I, annoyingly, have the same one you do but I ccannot figure out how to wire it up, or figure out the voltages properly. I don't suppose you have any tips or additional pictures of the connections? Thank you!

@@andrewdipplecomedy if you’re lucky there might be a service manual. Otherwise, it’s a lot of guess and check with a multimeter. Read the voltages on each pin for things such as on/off, brightness, gnd pins, and whatever power pins they might be. Those were the only things I was able to figure out on my monitor. Good luck!

When I switch to lipidwave skin and press exit it says missing songtranslation lua, transition lua, and title screen lua. Do you know how to fix?

so how do you setup the characters or whatever im completely new to rhythm games and i really wanna try this but i dont have any fancy controller or anything and theres only like one arcade with a cabinet in all of wisconsin and its like 6 hour drive both ways away from me

@@mendozaolives unfortunately not with v5. Kits are much harder to quality check and end up taking more time to pack and ship compared to assembled.

the jump button being the only 30mm button never made sense to me also, if youre going to design one from scratch why not add a slanted edge for your palms? not hating just curious

The controller isnt really tall enough to need any sort of curvature for your palm, i pretty much hover my palms when i play and it’s quite comfortable and ergonomic. Curvature also increases costs as it complicates manufacturing.

up is the only 30mm because it's intended to be comfortably used by both thumbs. Given you enough space to more comfortably rest left and right thumbs there at the same time.

Thanks for coming to my ted talk :) I'm happy to answer any questions if possible. I hope to send a few samples to reviewers when the production shipment comes in. First batch is targeting 500 controllers which will be hand-assembled by me in the USA (oof). We'll see how things go from there. Honorable mention to Gateron who also has low profile switches that are not pin compatible with any of the switches discussed in this video and are also limited to just red, brown, and blue switches.

With the release of v5, there are only fully built ones for sale now. Kits ended up taking longer to ship since the quality check on them was much harder.

My skin (the one your using and another different one) both told me they couldn't find a commonlua file directory, even though after checking i found the commonlua file it was saying i did not have. I checked github for answers and it said something about ASCII symbols being weird but idk how to fix them. If you can help that would be great.

Will this controller work with DJ Max? Can the knobs perform slide notes in that game?

I'm actually not too familiar with the settings in that game, but if you can bind the slide to mouse movement or gamepad movement, it'll likely work.

Thanks for this, I was losing my mind trying to figure out why I couldn't use the knobs lol. I still prefer USC and konasute but wanted to give KSM a try because on USC, no matter what I do, lasers are not working right. It's as if my knobs are sometimes super sensitive and they just slip and go flying out of the laser tracks. It's not the controller, I've already deduced that. Even if I lower the laser sensitivity from 3 to 2 or 1, this issue remains. Only thing I can think of is that it's an issue with the Nightfall skin I recently started using. I didn't have this issue until I started using it. Anyway, thanks for this!

I've noticed this issue with keyboard play tbh, I remember having a few issues with Nightfall but nothing gamebreaking, I had some timing issues with LiqidWave and a lot of laser issues with ExperimentalGear, tbh LucidWave seemed to work the best so I think you should try that out.
