Its not the water overheating. Its the oil. If you do a thing like this 4-5 quaters of oil must cool 8 pistons underneeth whith no air to cool at all. The oil gets hotter and hotter intill it stops lubrikate. Any racer knows this. With a proper oilcooler he could do that for hours.

Was at rice lake speedway wi late 90's or early 00's when something similar happened. Clip was on ripleys too. I believe it was a superstock during a heat race lost left front whole wheel exiting turn two after contact. The wheel rolled next to the car through the straightaway and hooked back up going into turn three. Finished the heat too! I don't believe the driver even knew he lost it until after the heat.
