I have a fairly new RB210 that I'm afraid I may have damaged already that I'd love to get your thoughts on. So my bass dropped straight onto it's input jack while plugged in. The cable bent within the bass knocking a wire off the input jack and this made the amp squeal quite loud. Now I feel as though volumes are a little lower from the amp and there is a background hum as well (horn hiss is noticeable louder too). Any idea at what I'm looking at here?

plug in a different bass and cable into the amp and see if the fault disappears

Hi i just purchased Rb 210. Is it ok for me to run a 100 watt bass cab from the speaker extension output? Thx!

it depends - if the extension cab is 4 ohms then no - you cant use it, if its 8 yes you can although youll be pumping 175 watts into a 100 watt speaker so if you over do it your damage the extension cabinet.

@pgpete thx. What I did was disconnect the amp from the speaker and ran a 1/4 Inch cable directly from the speaker. I'm not sure if it's 4ohm or 8

@@eddiejoe808 the amplifier would have been designed to drive a 4ohm load max - connecting a 4 ohm in parallel with an 8 ohms gives 2.66 ohms which can lead to amplifier instability and can blow the output stage.

The date code made me laugh! It was made on Christmas Eve and someone was in such a hurry to go home they didn't plug the power switch in! Lol. Cool vid man I enjoyed seeing the inside of my bass amp without taking mine out of the cabinet!

I rarely do these type of videos - but surprisingly it keeps on getting comments! apart from the initial problem, the amp has been reliable. I am very happy with it!

My Ampeg RB 220 arrived yesterday and also is not working, no power no nothing, it came from the US and I'm in Mexico, I think that I'm gonna try to see if, just like your, there's something disconnected before doing all the work of returning it.

no its a payout winch - it consists of a reel with about 900Metres of rope on it and a disk brake that provides constant resistance - see kzbin.info/www/bejne/nardh4JtrL2fl6c
