The barber shop is a living timepiece. The aesthetic is still the same after all these decades that the scene initially looked like a present-day Mad Men commercial.

expensive, unreliable and pretty, that defines Jaguar in a nutshell. My first car was a Dodge in high school. Didn't have ac, power nothing, it used to fix itself. Had a bad blinker one time, a few weeks later worked fine again lol.

The barber should have hit the lever on the floor and dropped Don right down to the furnace and the series end right there.

I hardly think that broads today want much to bother with men any more. Since that lousey good for nothing women's lib garbage started, women have gotten arrogant and act stupid these days. So if men use this hair cream at all, they use it to look good for themselves and not for broads of today. Broads of today just simply aren't worth it.

Good stuff. Was produced by Chesbough Ponds incorporated who also produced Groom & Clean men's hair dressing. It's been sold off to Suave and Suave discontinued Vasiline men's hair tonic.

That stuff is mainly mineral oil, which explains why their hair was glossy.

I prefer using Brylcreem hair cream. Many rumors exists about Vaseline Hair Tonic having no hold.

Trust me man these old product are way way way better. They are more healthy than gel, because gel contains alcohol which dries hair and it loses shine. Also hair is already dead so you cant choke it. I mean gel is ok but never my go to.

Vasiline was produced by Chesbourgh Ponds the same company that produces Groom and Clean hair dressing for men. It was sold off to Suave, and Vasiline was discontinued. As with any hair preparation product, you only use small applications of this, and only once a week. That's it.

RetroGuy76 Many guys out there knock hair jels out there, that it cements hair down. Hair gel, is a much cleaner way of combing and holding hair in place. To reactivate it, you comb your hair with water, and it dries stiff, just as if you were to have used hair spray. If you don't want the stiff hold, however hair that stays in place, just don't use water to comb your hair with. As with anything else, you use this and other hair products sparingly and use it only once a week with every other day hair washings. The use of hair products such as liquid hair dressings, hair cream, or products such as Groom & Clean, which is also a blue hair dressing that contains mineral oil in it's ingredients, work very good, however only using a small application once a week is the key to proper use. Some guys out there slather several applications of these products on their hair, causing the hair to look overly oily and matted down. As stated before, only once a week applications are necessary with every other day hair washings are the ticket and the key to good looking, yet well behaved, combed hair.

RetroGuy76.. I don't remember Vaseline tonic.. When I was a kid I used dads Vitalis..( and Aqua Velva or hai karate to be " grownup" the barber always used some tonic on me when I was a kid.. I tried brylcreme but I couldn't stand the smell, and felt kind of greasy even with a "dab" I moved to a pommade, nice wet look/sheen but too greasy and my hair didn't feel clean after I'd shower and washed it and yes on a hot day it melted in my eyes. While away at college, I tried a unisex shop for haircuts.. The same rather older lady ( I assume a beautician ) always washed and cut my hair and basically told me the same thing about the oily products. The first time she cut my hair, I had pommade in it and I remember she shampooed me three times to get it all out. That time she recommended mousse or gel for the same reasons you got . Although she did use some powerful hair spray on me. Do you remember dippity do? I've heard of guys using that for gel , my grandmother set her hair with that..but it smelled too femenine I've been using mostly gel ever since.. Can you share what gel you are using?
@danbasta36775 жыл бұрын
@@Tony-yg9mc I remember Dippy Do. It was designed primarly for women as a setting gel when they curled their hair, when women were women, and wanted to look like and act like women. Today, it's all the opposite, women want to look and act like men. At any rate, the only hair gel that is made now for men is Clubman Hair Gel which you can buy at Sally Beauty Supplies stores. There use to be a VO5 men's hair styling gel, and Dep For Men hair styling gel, and Consort hair styling gel, however they all have gone off the market. There really isn't much else out there these days left for men to comb their hair with except these new sissy flowery girl stuff like axe and that newer stuff that isn't anything to write home about. What the hey, even Rite Aide drug stores even quit carrying Brylcream now in days. Go Figure.
