Great video! I'm a pen nerd so I love hearing all about them. I wouldn't say I'd die on a hill for it, but I find that I gravitate more toward my Uni Ball One 0.5. On Passion Planner-type of paper, there's no smear, but on the Tomoe River paper it smears. It no longer smears at 10 seconds.

I love the Pilot G-2! It's just so easy to grab and jot things down when you need a pen quick. Yes it smears, but it'll never skip, even with quick strokes like signatures. I've been using its brother, the Pilot V-ball 0.5 at work for years.

This was my first Hemlock and Oak planner and got the horizontal version. I love it because I don't need the times. I think it's the time in your life that can make the difference between which planner you choose. I love the planning pages because I am focusing on developing self care habits right now. I want to see my progress, so I like the monthly reviews. I think this has a fairly minimal section for life review and habit cultivation compared to the Power Sheets and Makeslife. I am retired and so journaling and exploring what's important to me at this stage in my life is something I like to do. I may have a different view of this planner after I use it for a while. As for the Passion Planner...I have looked at this one a lot, but I too dislike not having lines on the months and the darkness of the headers and the times really bothers my eyes. Thanks for your review. I like hearing how people think through using a planner and sharing what helps them make a choice for a particular planner. P.S. And yes the gold foil is very visible on the darker colors.

Thanks for the idea of studying lyrics. Im ARMY 💜 (fan of BTS) and im learning Korean and starting a korean learning daily journal this december. Somehow im not sure why, i ddint put the 2&2 tgt and instead of googling korean word of the day or using words that i come across i can just use the lyrics. We are probably close in age and i agree that i have been enjoying music more and more. I think finding planner peace in one book is doable, for example how Helen from the coffee monster co does it. She both functionally plans and memory keeps in the same book. But I struggle with this a lot. Planners for me are functional and not things I want to keep. I have no need reminisce about that day six years ago that I went to work or cleaned my bathroom. I also do not want to keep my journaling because most of it is just brain dumping. I have found a kind of planner peace with having the planner in an e-ink notebook and dailies in a physical notebook. The planner is where I pre-plan both events and my weekly todo's while the physical notebook is my EDC and kind of a catch all notebook. The e-ink notebook is also where I journal, common place and keep my writing notebook. So even though it's theoretically one item, counting all the notebooks I have in there it's more than one. On top of this I do have my google calendar up to date, so if I'm out and about I can still reference to what I'm doing a month from now. For memory keeping I have a catch all stalogy where I review books if I feel like it and write down the events I do want to remember. It's a no pressure memory keeping system, because it's undated. I say kind of planner peace because even though this is working I do keep longing to try out a paper tess B6 or a sterling ink. But... the price of those planners do bring a level of pressure to the item. With shipping the price of one planner will be over 50€ so the presure to stick with them and use them for a year is immense. And throwing them away after the year is over? How am I supposed to do that when they costed so much? The pdf planner I bought and have been using now and will use for next year was less than 4€. Deleting the file at the end of the year won't feel like anything and if in six month I find out I hate it, it's not a huge loss. Anyhow, thanks for this video. Your lineup looks really good and I'm looking forward to see you settle into them next year. The only thing I'm wondering is that won't you feel you are journaling duplicate when you do it both in the cousin and the sterling ink?

Helen uses 4 books, though. Hobonichi Cousin, Leuchtturm Pocket A6 Bullet Journal, Take A Note A5, and Stalogy Notebook. Thank you for watching! What is an e-ink planner exactly? I’m not sure I’ve heard that before. I do get what you mean how planners like sterling ink are quite expensive but it’s a containable hobby for me since I don’t spend a lot on more markers or stickers anymore. I’ve been only using what I have for the past 6 months. I did think about if journaling would feel doubled in the cousin and sterling ink but my intention is to only journal/moan/braindump about work stuff in SI and only do for personal stuff in the cousin. I found compartmentalizing the topics has helped me focus better and release stress better 😅

The minimalist at least does not have the goal setting and habit cultivation setting in the beginning that the regular weekly has. The blank page can at least be used for anything so it's not so bad. I got the B5 this time and I love the size of it. It's not that much heavier but also does not seem that bulky but the grid is slightly bigger and just a bit more space total. I love it for functional planning. The gold foiling looks gorgeous in the other colors, especially the darker ones.
