Hi, does it make a difference if you scale the bend stiffness instead of stretch ? It my mind logically it's the bending of the points that is the animation rather than the stretch. Or is it because it's a pin constraint then it's the points stretching to the target points position ? Thanks.
@RonaldFong10 күн бұрын
@@frigbychilwether the latter! Glad you brought this up! It's not the most intuitive, but it refers to the stiffness of the pin constraints and not the general idea of bending the model. Good thinking! :)

This is best tutorial I ever seen. Thanks Ronald! But there was some issue at my practice. And I figure it out how to solve. I have in troubled with same issue like other man remains comments below. 12:55 When sphere rolling, glue constraints not work and furs all spread out over ground. -> The reason was, I did not matched vellumconstraint node's -> Geometry group type / Target Geometry group type settings to original nodes(fur, sphere). At this tutorial, Group types was already changed to points, but mine was not. (primitives mode) I was missed that. I am was stupid I guess and It was stupid mistake but I'm happy cause solve this :) I really appreciate your tutorial! Houdini is hard to learn but I am going to go forward anyway.

This is really helpful. I’m steadily trying to think of ways to reduce clicks to make the process more seamless no pun intended. Could a solution be to make a python state where it essentially is creating the pairs for you automatically as you click 2 seams and press a modifier key or is that over kill?

Not overkill at all! I wish I knew how to do all that. All the identifying attributes are there to build tools on top of, but it might not be SideFx's priority to compete with Marvellous Designer. So, for now, I think it's way easier to do patternmaking in Marvellous Designer. Not unless your tool comes along! You're a devgod after all ya? 😆

Thank you so much! Amazing tutorial! I made my own t-shirt with this and it works excellent except for one issue I'm running into that I can't figure out. When I stitch together the left and right side of the back and front pieces, the "seam" is visible down the middle when I simulate, as if it didn't weld them together to create one piece of cloth. They stitch together perfectly, it's only when I simulate inte the vellum solver it's visible. Any ideas to what might cause this?
@RonaldFong5 ай бұрын
hi! Glad to hear it doesn't affect your simulation, and in that case, the Vellum Post Process node can take care of the seams with the "Apply Welds" checkbox :) I'm not at my machine now, but I recall that's roughly how it works.

@RonaldFong9 күн бұрын
good point! the same principles apply, but sometimes it's still helpful to have a guide with the exact same software. let me see if I can get to it. otherwise, you can check the scene scale. often times, if the object is too large, the displacement can go unnoticed even when it happens.

i m getting a problem in this tutorial ..the sphere which i used is getting inverted in one or two frame when i play animation after all pop simulation
@RonaldFong Жыл бұрын
Hi! Assuming you're referring to the geometry that you copy onto the particles, then it's likely that you have some negative value the particle scale. This can happen if you're input @age is wrongly estimated/ranged/remapped. You can start by checking that. If that's not the case, you can check your render, because sometimes it's a viewport display issue. Hope that helps!
