I noticed that you drilled a large hole in the floor aswell as in the footwell? What is the hole in the floor for please as I want to install one of these, many thanks
@VanCreationsАй бұрын
Hi, The hole in the drivers side step is for the air inlet, the hole through the floor is for the hot air outlet. On this particular van the customer wanted the heater outlet to come up through their custom box and then mounted flush in the side. We would usually drill a hole under the drivers seat to come up through with the hot air outlet and moun the vent in the rear of the drivers seat base. Alternatively you can install an internal mount heater under the drivers seat. Many Thanks Simon

Sorry for the delay, things have been hectic. We use a tool set from amazon, currently using Satra tools. Silverline do a similar kit which can be purchased from Screwfix. We've tried others in the past but these ones work well and last. I recommend purchasing some decent windscreen removal wire if you are doing it on a weekly basis!

It’s true, my black bars are rusted to hell and back. One came off the front hinge recently, my wife had to bring my 18v multi tool so I could cut the rusted bolts/brackets off by the side of the road. I looked into it and was told mine rusted because I didn’t have mud flaps, your van has them so that’s BS then.
@VanCreations2 ай бұрын
Hi, Sorry to hear you had the common issues. Mud flaps do help a lot as they reduce stone chips to the front of the bar. Without mud flaps, as soon as you drive for a few weeks, you will get stone chips on the front of the bar and rust will set in. Definitely better with the powder coated stainless steel ones as they do last longer.

Niec one pal. How did you removed old adhesive?
@VanCreations3 ай бұрын
On this particular window replacement the adhesive just peeled away, literally that easy. The primer was also poorly applied so we could remove it with a soft wire brush and start again! If your bonding is adhered to the van and is good then you can cut I back flat, leave it and apply Dinitrol 520 glue cleaner activator and then bond over the top!

@@VanCreations hi am about to replace my slide windows on a T5 with fixed ones due to persistant leaking from the drain channel that i cant resolve at all and have bought a pair of fixed side windows with a kit (trim x 2, primer and the glue x2), not sure what the adhesive is like yet under the windows installed would you advise using Dinitrol 520 glue cleaner activator instead of the primer if the old adhesive is bonded on well or would you just use the primer provided in the kit? or both? wont know about the bonding until i take them off but want to be best prepared for any eventuality as otherwise i will mess it up. thanks

@VanCreations5 ай бұрын
Yes, if it was mine I would have a sequoia table mount on the floor with a removable post so we could have a little table. With regards to the seat removal. You could remove the rear and left hand bench part without too much trouble/time, the right hand bench wouldn't be removable in this particular build as all the electrical component and leisure battery are installed in that location. It's all done to the customers build spec and everyone is different and required different uses which is the great things about these builds!
@Senna-xi1gr5 ай бұрын
@@VanCreations Hi, Thanks, yes after this video I watched another one of yours with centre seat removal which is great. I love the 240 hook up under rear light. Fantastic. Any where we don’t need to drill holes in van is a great idea. 👍🏆

Hi, if you were fitting a triple rear seat what brackets would you use? Is it the simple L type brackets or the brackets which sort of frame around the cross beam?
@VanCreations5 ай бұрын
Hi Eddie, Fitting a bench triple in the middle row requires the larger type brackets. The smaller L shape brackets are used on the far outside brackets of a 2+1.

Just a question do you put any waterproofing etc around the brackets???
@VanCreations6 ай бұрын
No we don't. Same as the VW factory built Kombi's. We do treat any bare metal from drilling with primer/sealer. You could put a bit of sealant around the holes prior to the brackets going in but we've never seen any water ingress from this area in retro fitted or factory Kombi's.

I just fitted mine to my T6, By my self, on my drive . I used levelling ramps to jack one side up at a time, make it so much easier, I just loosened the edges of the cavorting pans, there plastic on mine, just held them down with a bit of 2x2 timber, I pre loaded the split pin thingys that go on the bolts that go into the chassis by just knocking them on a couple of threads down form the bolt head then just bend the ends down slightly so they don’t go into the chassis hole, they soon pull up tight when you tighten it up, piece of cake, I didn’t cut the bolts nor th3 pans where they hit the bolt because the plastic pans just bend round the bolts when tightened. Took me 2 hours at a leisurely pace. No hurry. I’m retired. And 74.

What do you mean by the last part of how to ensure there are no black spots and rotating the bulbs? Is this something you could show too please? Very helpful video. Thanks.
@VanCreations10 ай бұрын
Hi Thanks for your comment. After installing the headlights, you can park your van face on from a wall/fence etc.. Depending on the position of the bulb, you can sometimes cast a shadow(black spot) where you would want a clean light pattern. If you reach behind the headlamp to the back of the bulb you can rotate it slightly and watch on your wall the shadow move out of eye line. You are trying to create the cleanest beam pattern you can for the best vision at night. It's a little bit tricky to explain but I hope this helps. Next time we install these headlights, I will see if we can do a video on the set up! Cheers Simon
