Most people don't know this but robots don't take extra headshot damage so you're better off shooting their arms so they can't shoot back

I did not know that, but thats not wht i shoot them there. I watch too many mecha anime, wheee all the sensors on robots are in the head. Take out the head, bit cant see you. Probably not true in Fallout, never really cared, just a reflex.

Yeah, if you get further along in Jake's story, you find out his wife took off with their daughter looking for a place safe from raiders and Gunners. He's hoping that rebuilding the Commonwealth (as you can help him do through the Sim Settlements 2 quests) will convince her to return and he'll get to see his daughter again. So he really does know what it's like to lose contact with a child and desperately want to find them and make sure they're safe.

Yes :) It is called Sim Settlements 2 mod, comes in three chapters and adds a couple dozen hours of gameplay and a different spin on settlement building and management.
