My 2016 Sierra doing it now. 200k but runs great. Trans shop quoted me 6k to replace the trans. 85* day at startup my trans temp gauge reading 43*. Drove to the store got up to 153, Then dropped to 63 when I backed In. Temps all over the place.

Nice looking VW bug! Maybe put some racing stripes on it! I didn't catch if that is a standard or automatic! Shifters are fun to drive, most of the older model VWs were standards! Maybe a thrush muffler for a little growl. Great video!

I did the same thing on my 18, loved the sound, but the performance was poor, and it threw up error codes due to lack of back pressure.

Sorry to hear that! So far I have had zero engine codes or lack of performance. Been 45,000 miles since it was cut off and truck now has 170,000 miles. If anything might have lost some fuel mileage but that also could be from getting on it more often. Thanks for the comment!

@@wrenchingcouple2034 I put a flow master on my 2017 with no valve or resonator. It’s a single cab. My fuel mileage went from average 21 22 mpg to average of 16mpg 😂 I guess not having back pressure done that.

Great video! I have a 2017 gmc sierra and have the same two codes p0700 and p0711. I want to assume since its the same year and same 8 speed transmission, then it probably has the two piece wiring harness. How did you know which harness to replace? Thanks.
@wrenchingcouple2034
@wrenchingcouple2034 9 ай бұрын
The code for me was pointing to the transmission temp sensor. I did a little digging into a wiring schematic and confirmed with the local dealership as to which harness had the physical temp sensor attached to it. Luckily the one that has it is the easier to replace harness. Hope this helps!

Excellent review. I have that same one, and it is great. And if you are "on the fence" (like the machine is during most of the video) DO NOT be afraid of the machine hitting a root or a rock and "tearing out your arm." I have found that when it happens, the auger either stops spinning, or, the head unit starts to turn, forcing you to release the throttle and the auger stops. If you still have doubts, work with a friend holding on, facing you, and you will learn how it works and soon be on your way. You will dig this auger!

We are located in southern WI, so far the APR coils are holding up. However the car does randomly have misfire issues. We have been thinking its fuel related since its always right after filling up. The APR tune and coils definitely give the car some extra power and the wife loves it!

Since eliminating the valve, muffler, and resonator I have had zero issues. I only keep the trucl in v8 mode with my Range device. Ive heard that if it goes into v4 mode with the valve out, you can get a decent drone from the exhaust sometimes.

There is three cats so there is one off each exhaust manifold and one after they meet. If you delete that I think you will not meet emissions. The muffler is just in front of the axle and the resonator is after the muffler. It is just behind the axle

Other than the CEL code, is there damage caused driving without changing the harness? I mean, is temp really fluctuating or just a bad harness reading as the problem?
@wrenchingcouple2034
@wrenchingcouple2034 2 жыл бұрын
In my opinion and I am no expert, I would say that the temp isnt fluctuating and it's just the reading back to the truck. I drove it for awhile while I diagnosed it and waited for parts and didnt see any trace of physical damage when I opened the transmission. My only concern is what affect the temp has on shift points. Maybe the temp read back has 0 affect on shiftingor anything transmission related other than being a warning. . That is something I didn't know so I just choose to fix the problem.

Thank you! As far as I know there isn't part number. You kind of just find the ones the fit what you need. We went with a 5x112 to 5x5 wheel adapter that was 1/2" thick. I have seen some that are 2 inches thick. They can make custom ones too. You can search "usadapters" on ebay or here is their website: www.uswheeladapters.com/5-lug-wheel-adapters/ Thanks and good luck on the bug!

@wrenchingcouple2034
@wrenchingcouple2034 2 жыл бұрын
I removed the flapper valve along with resonator and muffler. I run a Range AFM so I am always in V8. Sometimes in town you will get a drone as the rpms wind down but otherwise I have had no drivability issues. I havent ever drove it in v4 mode since cutting it off. I would imagine just increased drone noise.
