From Google: Each behavior or action consists of three parts: the antecedent, the behavior, and the consequence. Antecedents are events (internal or external) which trigger behaviors. ... this is eg of drive. since it arouses emily to want to have food. Food, here is the need, while what drives emily to eat it, here, is her grumbling and empty feeling stomach.
