Nah, the jawline, as it turns out, is one of the few things I haven't had to work for. That said-- I never got comments before I grew the Van Dyke and sideburns, and keeping those in check is a daily activity. So maybe.... But this is about you, @xy2009mods I'm glad you found the video and hope you have a Happy Birthday. 🎂 Here's to the idea of altering one's hard palate with an otherwise weak muscle. (Though if I remember correctly, gum chewing is a huge part of said program and those muscles are some of the strongest. And that is something I do daily, so maybe I have worked for it)

Hi, @BruceProductions_OCButterfly99 I'm hardly an authority on the matter, I was introduced to the book, thought it was very interesting and thought I'd read from it and give my thoughts as an open minded, quasi-conservative, philosophy major. I imagine in Planetary/Astrology terms, things are always in a little bit of flux; movement of the galaxy and all that. That said, this book was written in the early nineties and as I've heard it, the author interviewed a bunch of people for each birthday and incorporated commonalities with the personality breakdowns; so. it's not all strictly astrology based. I'm glad you found the video | the video found you and I hope you had a Happy Birthday! 🎂

Love reading that. If there is one thing the book advocates over and over it is cultivating self-awareness and growth. That said, even though I've been bombarded with that message over and over again in the reading and in my thoughts when composing the notes, it's still hard, still a process and all too easy to forget and/or even purposefully neglect. But I like to think that struggle is part of the process. I wish you all the best, and here'ssssss to 53! 🐍

Pretty sure the heavenly Father declared that tarot, witchcraft, clairvoyancey and so on are all works of the enemy. So are we going by being led by the God of creation? Or the God of the world?
@briandykeman
@briandykeman 13 күн бұрын
Having a philosophy degree @TiaMahan I've had to read about many a theology from objective books by scholars who have spent their lives researching their subjects. Even they don't declare who the God of creation is. In the same vein, I'm not going to get into saying what's right and what's wrong; belief and how one does or doesn't practice or impliment said beliefs is different for every individual. The book, these videos on the channel, it's all for entertainment and to advocate for people bettering themselves, hopefully hearing something they hadn't heard before, gaining some kind of surprising insight or seeing how they differ from what is conveyed by such ideas. Also, and hopefully most importantly; aside from wishing folks a Happy Birthday, motivating them to ask questions about their own personal value and cultivating self-awareness. Huge topics that I think are important for anyone to consider and none of it has to do with religion or spirituality. All this is to say you don't have to believe any of this to get something from it. Even if someone wanted to dive head long into making such topics their life's pursuit, I'd be hard pressed to think this book could function in any relavent capacity for such matters. That isn't its purpose. That said-- as I've heard it, the author interviewed a huge assortment of different people for each birthday from a psychological standpoint and amassed commonalities into the content and in turn then correlated how Astrology lined up; an interest of his that he was originally suspicious of. The Tarot by my reckoning was to simply better fill out the second page so anyone who bought the book wouldn't feel as though they were getting shortchanged with a half blank page, as, quite honestly, it really says precious little or provides any kind of context in those terms specifically. Again, not its purpose. I often call that out also as most of the Tarot entries are just a quick blurb about what that card is said to represent and occasionally how they may line up with what's been conveyed or something an individual should consider; considering whatever was written previously. It's often so brief and innocuous I want them to elaborate, and I don't ascribe to the Tarot, But the Idea man in me wants to hear and understand the subject and prospect. That said, thank you for posting your comment, I seldom get to elaborate on these topics in the videos themselves, it'd add too much time to videos that already clock in on the long side and I seldom encounter folks who bring up these concerns. So, that also said, Tia, I just want to close by writing: I hope you had a Happy Birthday; even if the subject matter that drew you to the channel was something you have an aversion to. 🎂

I'm a dyed in the wool ping-ponger. If I like certain qualities of my star sign I am happy to believe, yet if certain whathaveyous don't ring true or [I don't like] them then it's all a load of dictating, oppressive crap. I'm not the only person who reacts this way. As an 8th September child I'm definitely secretive, even reticent (depending on the other person/people, my humour at any precise moment in [man-made] time, or the topic of conversation or aspect of my life). Thank you for vocalising who you truly are compared to the exterior and how you come across to others. I come across as aloof, even though, with time and trust I can be warm, caring, nurturing, and have, in my humble opinion, a cracking sense of humour. I put this down to complex-PTSD due to abuse and neglect in childhood and, very probably, being neurodivergent; yet my Birthday might well play a part. Brian, have you looked into, if you know, the specific time you were born? Otherwise known as your moon sign. I'm a Virgo Sun, Scorpio Moon. A sexual virgin you could say (hence the secrecy). Little wonder why I have a tendency to be intense and serious, whilst also being silly and swinging widely from being tactful to being a little blunt. Cough. Curiously, what day were you born on?🦋
@briandykeman
@briandykeman 15 күн бұрын
I'm more of a creased in the corduroy, fence sitter than your dyed in the wool ping-ponger, but if I'm honest with myself, I probably had a very similar vantage when I first heard my birthday reading. I think it had something to do with, first and foremost, not knowing what the book was going to convey, but in the course of hearing the reading, ultimately not hearing it with and open, objective ear; too emotionally close to the information I didn't want to hear, and hearing it as if it were being presented as a kind of gospel that went against the idea I had of myself. In essence, it claimed I was a teacher, and I took that to mean I should be up in front of kids lecturing about grammar or the like-- which I am not at all interested in, so I wouldn't really hear the reading after that. But upon the friends who conveyed the reading disagreeing with my aversion and explaining I most certainly had propensity to teach or explain and share the information or things I learn and experience; not necessarily being a teacher in vocational terms-- well it was a valuable lesson in the exact kind of dynamic you were describing, being averse to the information one may not want to hear. I haven't looked into my own Moon sign as yet, though I have had several people in my channel community offer to read my chart. I am open to it, but I think I'll come to the information when it's best meant to serve me. I've experienced several otherwise magical moments when things I passed on in the past find me when I most need them in my life. I'm thinking that may be one of the things. As to PTSD, I have some lingering aspects from my military service; being abrasively curt and suddenly abrupt or snippy in an otherwise inappropriate manner for the situation and for no real reason. Though thinking I know the various specific sources, mine is probably from a much less traumatic series of experiences. All that to say: I empathize with the struggle, hope you are on the upswing or long past having found ways to adapt to the affects/effects. Thank you so much for sharing and your kind words @GingerButterfly . I don't like to openly share my birthday; don't want make the day about me for others who may come to find the video. But the book calls it the day of Nurturing Support so it shouldn't be too had to find if you want to look for it. (Though Microsoft's Co-Pilot claims that day is Sept 16, which it isn't 😂) Thanks again for sharing, and I hope you had a Happy Birthday. 🎂➰ 🏓

What’s the tarot card affiliated in the book?
@briandykeman
@briandykeman 24 күн бұрын
I'm not sure @healyshem-tov761 It's one of the subjects in the book that isn't really elaborated upon outside what's presented on each day. Even the planets get a little bit of an additional breakdown in the back of the book. Far as I've discerned they just take the number of the birth day, associate it with that respective higher suited Tarot card; not even sure how they determine which is which number, and give a quick synopsis/occasional comparison w/r/t how such representations relate/speak to or sometimes against the personality. It's a bit weird in that it totally neglects the lower suits; that is to say: your Cup cards, et cetera. All told, it may be in there so as to help better fill the second page. If it wasn't there some of the birthdays would be rather sparse. I'm not sure if that answers your question directly, but I hope it provides a bit more context.

You're welcome, @Enjoy2Ride250 Yeah, I don't necessarily think I have enough prowess with the instrument to be putting out tutorials-- or more importantly: how to translate the things I think I know into videos that would be of benefit, but I appreciate your thoughts, I might be able to drill down some things to avoid which WOULD be of benefit. Help others just starting out skip the intimidating barriers to entry that I contended with for years. I will say giving myself a reason to play/practice was huge: (I start and end my Grimm's Fairy Tale videos with short, improvised riffs, for instance) But definitely let me know if you get a Toy Microphone, that would put a hardy smile on my face knowing I inspired someone else to do/try something as harebrained. amzn.to/3X7cys8

@briandykeman Ай бұрын
I'm hardly an authority on playing well, or getting the best bends, but experiment with moving your tongue to different places in your mouth, e.g. pulling it back, putting an arch in it, et cetera, you'll find the air passes through the reeds at different angles, resulting in your different bends much easier than utilizing the diaphragm. Personally, I prefer and find it easier to isolate single holes with tongue blocking and can get bends that way, but it's probably advisable not to utilize that method and do the difficult thing of learning to isolate/block with your lips so you can't use your tongue for vibrato, bending and 'tuhs' and 'tahs.' You end up limiting the tones and effects you can effect if you tongue block. Other than that, just blow on that thing as much as you can so you get used to and start knowing/feeling where the tones are. Youll be working your way up to crafting and resolving riffs in no time. I also bought a D harp and wasn't the biggest fan of how high it was compared to my C and G, but it's probably one of my favorites at this point considering how many great songs utilize it. Bought an F and it is almost unplayable as high and shrill as it is in comparison; got a Low F to make up for that. Anyway, thanks for the comment and I hope you find a lot of enjoyment in playing. Probably sounds dumb, but if you can get your hands on one of those Giant Toy Microphones; the one with the spring that runs through it, you can get some tasty reverb playing into one. I have a screwball video of myself playing with one I electrified/installed a Lav mic into.

Hey! Nice brief well explained video. One doubt tho: that clean hdmi output would get rid of the square that detects faces?
@briandykeman
@briandykeman Ай бұрын
@BenjaminJackson-o7f I want to say the 'clean' means without any information on the display / in the Output. That said, I seem to recall that if you want that stuff in the output there's is way to do that, maybe as simple as hitting the 'Info' or Display buttons themselves. I just don't recall off hand which it was; and I'm not sure if that also extends to the focus window. (I film all my Birthday Reading Videos with the 'Clean Output' method and don't get the info or focus square.) One thing I believe I got wrong and found you can in fact do is use the Auto Focus in this mode. You may even be able to use it in modes other than Manual, I just haven't played around with it in that respect as I have the settings I like pretty well dialed in with the Manual Setting. One of the chief take aways however is that you have to have the camera in certain modes for the clean output setting to even be listed. 'P' and/or 'M,' I believe; which is perhaps dependant on firmware versions. A lot of playing around and scouring the net and forums to arrive at this info. There's a lot of baked in red tape; I read somewhere maybe like-- European Tax implications if they had a camera record longer than 30 minutes. To say, it's considered a Cam Corder in the case and the taxes on it would be higher. Don't know if that's true or not, but I have an Insta 360 and it also is limited to 29 minute record times. OH, also, you have to have a cable in the HDMI port for some of the functionality to occur or disappear. To say-- if you still have the cable in the port you may not be able to switch the camera into a more conventional function mode. And vice versa. Some of the Clean function may not appear to work or present without a cable inserted. (At least that's been my experience.) So be mindful of that also. I leave these things plugged in and don't toy with them too much so my memory is a bit spotty on the particulars. (One of the reasons I made the video, so I, myself had something to jog my memory.)

@@briandykeman thanks for your reply. I’ll try the different options. The problem I’m having now is that after those 30 min, my camera shutter closes and the recording goes black displaying a message saying “Press <REC> button to prepare for movie shooting”. Do you have that problem too? I’m routing the hdmi output on my camera to OBS using Elgato Cam Link 4K. It’s super annoying because whatever I’m recording/streaming after 30 min goes black and I need to manually press the rec button to show video again.

@@BenjaminJackson-o7f You're welcome, can't tell you how frustrated I was when I was in your same position with the same results-- cost of what I paid for the camera and I couldn't use it for the reason I bought it-- and no one was posting about the steps they used to get their cameras to work. But, you do have all the right gear, it's exactly what I'm using with Streamlabs/OBS. And with the Clean output I've actually had the camera on for days and it was still providing picture; forgot to turn it off. That being written, and I know it's probably not something you want to read, I also recommend spending the money on the Canon branded dummy battery and power supply. It's considerably overpriced compared to the Chinese knock offs out there, but I had an SL3 go down and-- not saying that was the cause, but after that I wasn't taking any chances. And there is a stark weight difference between the two, so the Canon Brand most certainly has more solid state devices/electronics inside the power supply. Here's the link to the bundled kit I bought for the SL3: amzn.to/3z92mqR It came in cheaper than buying the parts individually at the time I purchased it. Also comes with a Canon USB C cable that isn't compatible with the SL3, if that's what you're using, and which sells for something like 50$ by itself. So you could always try listing/selling that thing and potentially get some of your money back if you didn't need it.

@briandykeman Thank you for your response, if you don't mind me asking which days are the worst to be born on, according to your own self?

Any given zodiac period has their share of days that aren't the most postitive reads. But the Scorpio period stands out in my mind as the one with the wild swings between 'Sunny' and days most Dark. Negative days in the book that stand out in my mind though, since I know people born on those days, are July 22nd and particularly October 27th.

Making it about me and not the garden center tchotchke 🤣. Made my day, @JohnPalermo-wp5df The Van Dyke certainly helps to that end. 🧔🏻‍♂️

Thank, @eastonbeaston I swing with a wide assortment. The Ka-Bar is actually kind of a middle ground between the Xacto knife and the Machete-- or Sawsall.

Nah, it's operator error. Didn't get enough practice opening MRE's with it as I'd defer to my Gerber Multi-Purpose Tool in such situations.

The Birthday book does it again, eh? Crazy. So, is that good or bad? Sometimes these reads can be pretty dour revelations; hope that's not the case. Thanks for commenting, @high_maintenance and I hope you had a Happy Birthday.
