I have the same radio of the display turns off when you open the face I’m assuming a bad ribbon cable then I also have the DEH 8400 MP that does not power on at all like to have them both repaired and add Bluetooth

I had an X815 in a '91 Caprice combined with a KAC - 846 4 channel amp and a KAC - 819 Sub amp plus a 12 inch Kenwood sub and Kenwood 6X9 rear deck and 4X6 door speakers. I used to say the sound it made was majestic because it was so clear!. I have never since had a car stereo that was better. I later changed out the KAC - 846 amp to a Kenwood amp that looked like and matched the KAC-819 and the quality sound was no more. Those old Kenwood Silver amps are so good and much better then the amps that followed them. I still have my 846 and it will see life again one day.

I know you don’t specialize in repair but I’ve got the older 840 and It won’t power on. I know it’s getting power cause I checked it with a multimeter but I can’t figure out why it won’t turn on. Any ideas?

My screen has lines. Anyone know how to fix that? I was told the ribbon cable was not the issue and I would have to replace the screen. Is that true? If so whats the name of the part so I can search for it?

I have the 7600 mp it seems the only differnece is the color of two buttons in the bottom corner on mine are blue not green. Only diffenrece I see

man.. the first head unit I bought was an x815. That thing was baller. Really sad that after only about 5 or 6 years, the ribbon cable cracked rendering it useless. Still have it in a box in my basement.. wish I could get it working again.

Most all the old Pioneer radios turn off by holding the SRC button. It will then activate DEMO mode but you can turn that off by turning off then holding FUNC to bring up setup menu. Then push FUNC to go through the different settings until you get to DEMONSTRATION and press up/down button to turn off.

To turn on the AUX input, turn off unit by holding SRC and then hold FUNC. Once the setup menu appears press FUNC until you get to AUX. Press UP/DOWN button to turn on. Then press SRC to turn radio back on. Press SRC again and the AUX option should be there now.

Just an FYI @RadiOG, you canbuy the wheels new. But itwas a huge pain getting those wheels out. For the life of me I could not remove the motor the way you did, I had to completely dissasemble the circlips and faceplate to gain access. You could probably do it. CNV7753 for white gear CNV7754 for black gear but verify both I messed up and bent the arms so after replacing I dont think itll work.. Ill report if it does

These did not need repair. They didn't have the code so i bought them in unknown condition. I changed the security pads to a known code and they worked fine.
