Your room was identical to mine, so that's what most people should expect. Nice and big with a large balcony. Anyway, I've just got back from my week (eight days in all) at the Siva Grand Beach Hotel, so here are my personal pros and cons, starting with the cons: The staff refused to turn on the air conditioning saying they wouldn't be doing so until April, so I was rarely able to get cool as temperatures regularly hit 28-30 C and made the lobby and my room stuffy. I wasn't warned of construction work directly beneath my room which went on uninterrupted for ten hours a day, 8am till 6pm, so if anyone with a room in the vicinity wanted some quiet time or a midday nap... good luck. The staff were often bothersome, regularly trying to upsell by offering me wine and food I had no interest in for an additional charge. For what I experienced the holiday was way overpriced, and the included food and drinks were bland and basic - the same choices every day of cheap self service stuff and cordials in dispensers made to look like fresh juices. By the way, that loud construction work looks like lasting for months. PS. Take plenty of Imodium, even when sticking solely to bottled water, which you must do even for brushing your teeth. I don't have a weak stomach, but I still got some kind of reaction from something I ate or drank. To end on a more positive note, the pools and beach were glorious, as was the view of the sea and mountains. The young guy who tidied my room daily was really nice and friendly, and I got a kettle and lots of tea and coffee sachets for a small fee. Also, I paid only about £200 Sterling (not including the never ending scams and tips) for a great day out to Cairo with a guide and a friendly couple from Croatia, flying there and back, and experiencing the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx, etc. I met some good people who were also on holiday, so thanks to Gorro, Petra, Rod, Martin, Barbara, Jackie and Diane, all from various European countries.
