I found leaving the diagonal seam tape on my machine helps. I just cut it off where the bobbin case is, and leave it where nothing interferes with working on my machine. Then it stays accurate, at least on my machine. Thank you for the tutorial, cute flower 🌸 block 😊

Absolutely great tutorial Heather, for working with these tiny pieces and getting accuracy! I would highly recommend all beginners watch this video whether they are working with any tiny pieces or not, as so much good info for accuracy in general.

Hi Heather! Lovely video! So important to have accurate blocks and accurate seams! I was using diagonal seam tape as well, and found the same when I had to replace it. I have an older Pfaff that is a huge metal beast, so I am thinking of perhaps making a super accurate mark with a Sharpie (just a little dot or two), on my metal deck. It will help me get my tape on in the same place every time. I’ve been using the Lori Holt stick on flower that’s for getting an accurate seam. But it can shift sometimes. Not ideal!!! Thanks so much for your cute little posey block!!! ❤

I chose to do this BOM as my first quilt. My grandmother was an avid quilter. I have a memory of going to one of her quilt shows, and looking for her work. When I asked an attendant if they knew where to find her submissions, they told me that she had so many submissions that they had given my grandmother HER OWN FLOOR to display her quilts. Her quilts are prized by members of our family. Unfortunately, my little collection burned in a house fire. My aunt and uncle generously gave me one of theirs and I’ve used it for years. Since the quilt is about 40+ years old, it’s starting to show some wear with daily use. I was looking at it and thought that I could likely recreate her quilt to save the sentimental one from daily wear and tear. I searched for the quilt pattern (Dresden plate) and while doing research I stumbled upon this BOM, thought it was cute, and bought it.

I was so thrilled to be able to catch the live - doesn't usually happen for me! I chose to join in on the Flower Shop BOM because of it's unique design........love the flowers, flower pots, and all the super cute stuff in it! Also because your patterns are so well written that it makes it easy to sew them up with no issues.

I chose to do the Flower Shop BOM mainly because of the beautiful colors of the fabrics , 2nd because I grew more confident and learned so much in quilting the Flower Stand BOM that I couldn't wait to do more, and last but not least...you make the patterns so easy to follow and guide us through it all who wouldn't want to do this BOM!!❤❤❤❤❤❤

My favorite things about this bom are the colors the theme (who doesn’t like flowers). I love how we can interact with each other. I love that you have organized it so well and all the extra’s that you do for us. I will also have a beautiful quilt when it is done. I have so many favorites with your bom’s . I will be back for the cottage also.❤

Hi Heather, I’m very appreciative of your tutorials. I don’t necessarily see them the day or even the month you produce them, but as I work through each block I first watch your tutorial then as I cut and sew I also have it on again. I learn so many tips and tricks which make the process even more fulfilling. I also enjoy your humour and how you speak genuinely in your videos. I will continue to buy your BOMs and patterns as I love your colors, your purposeful and thoughtful planning as well as your fresh ideas ❤ best regards from Saskatchewan Canada

I am so excited for this bom. I am back for quilt 2. I love my finished flower stand quilt. You host such a fun bom. I love all the small storage you had a market that would be great remix projects or mini quilts to hang in sewing rooms.

I would love to see remix patterns of pillows that would go with the quilt. I bought the quilt kit last week, but haven't received it yet, but I am so excited to get started. I had purchased the flower stand quilt kit when it first came out and by the time I got it, I totally forgot about the quilt a long, so I am late to the game with that one, but plan on working on both quilts this time around. Thank you so much for your beautiful fabric, designs, patterns, and enthusiasm. Your quilt alongs look like so much fun!

Remix idea: Project bag with clear vinyl so that you see the pretty flowers when the bag is empty. Pretty on the inside and outside!😊
@allisonhansen29822 ай бұрын
Remix project ideas: * banner/door hanger-I would love a banner, as I have an office door and I think it would be fun to hang a banner on it, especially a cute floral one. * quilted skirt-I feel that a floral quilted circle skirt would be quite cute. An elastic waistband would allow many people to adapt and wear the pattern. Think of how cute it would be to have all of the flowers around the skirt * Book cover/planner cover-I am in the process of planning out 2025 and a planner cover would be nice and super cute, especially if it has a pen loop * A quilted project bag to help organize all of the BOTMs. It would go well with your new labeling system. * The holiday season is approaching. Maybe a quilted bag that people can load with goodies for homeless people. The challenge could include giving it away to someone in need * Oven mitts * Pet harness

I am so excited to get started!!! I emailed you a few weeks back and received a response that sounded so much like you (even though it was written). Your enthusiasm is sew genuine and refreshing ( I don´t feel like I am on home shopping network for fabric). I would really like to see a sewing supply roll like for crayons but for friction pens, rotary cutter, ruler pocket, needles (in the plastic packet) small scissors. Maybe a decorative wrap for a spray bottle you could keep near an iron. Since it wraps up kinda late Spring maybe some tableware Easter or Saint Patricks Day theme items or wall hanging. I have started a sewing/ craft club at the school where I teach 6th graders so anything that could be done with young sewers to keep that next generation sewing I would be really happy to see as well.

Your such an adorable person Heather. I did watch the live earlier today and can't wait to get started on this quilt. I would love to do the cross stitch --- may have to go purchase that. Also it would be so cute to have some pillow cases, table runners, or maybe little trivets for my kitchen?? Just some ideas that would be so lovely out of this.

I’m here, just a bit late. I made the Flower Stand quilt and loved it! I signed up for Cozy Cottage but felt that I should skip Flower Shop. That was until I watched Heather’s Introduction video! I’m going to use my own fabrics, and immediately signed up for the pdf patterns. Heather, your BOM is just too much fun to miss!! ❤

I missed the first few minutes of this live, so I wasn't there when you asked if this was the first time. I did make Flower Stand and was blessed to be one of the final celebration winners for the finished quilt in a different fabric line, so exciting! I love to make gifts, so anything that you come up with will be great. Love bags, totes, baskets, etc. Kitchen towels and pot holders would be great, I am thinking of making some.
