Wonderful and informative tutorial. I like that you give us more than one solution. Thank you. May I ask where you get your clips? They look heavier than what I have. I need something to weigh down my stitches in the middle of my machine as I knit. Any ideas are needed and appreciated.

How do you decide the size of triangle you need? I’m making a dinosaur hat that needs spikes, and I’m having a hard time figuring out size.
@fatimascircularknitting7106
@fatimascircularknitting7106 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question, In order to determine any specific size of fabric, one have to take a few considerations; What is the size of your dinosaur, ( the spike is really up to you, ( there’s no right or wrong), if you want to be proportional comparing to the head of the animal, you would do it smaller, Another consideration is the yarn 🧶 you use I would start with 3 needles regardless the size, increasing one stitch every other row, do this 3 or 4 times than check if you like it . Don’t forget that when you sew it will be much smaller. Cheers!

With this idea I was thinking of making triangles but increase every other row to make enough triangles to make a beret hat.

Perfect, it will work. Make sure you do a trial first, the yarn and the tension will determine the size.

Just one question, panel or tube mode for the triangle?

@@leticiagarcia2159 , flat However you can knit motives eg; Knitting in a tube a few rows stop at the first row 1 black needle introduce a different colour of yarn knit one needle, drop the yarn in centre ( diferente colour one), Row 2 Bring the second yarn colour up feed the needle before the one in the middle and the one after ( now you have 3 stitches in a different colour) Keep adding one stitch before an one after until you form a motive Hopefully you can make it Ps. It’s quiet difficult to put in words Addi works!

Thank you so much!! Fabulous collection of cast on methods! When my machine arrives I will try them all, Each one has its uses. With number two I would use a row of nylon thread (I used this when I had a flat bed machine) after finishing the number of rows with the main yarn for one row before bringing in the scrap yarn.That way, when you pick up the stitches you an just pull the nylon thread out easily. This also works beautifully to start by casting on with waste yarn, knitting a few rows, one row of nylon thread and then bring in the main yarn. I have to use subtitles and they interpreted e wrap as ear up!! I was amused by that when I realised.😀

I remember a technique in a book from the 90s (I can't find it right now) where beads were threaded on the yarn before the knitting (cutting or changing yarn if you need more beads). It would translate to taking the yarn out of the tensioner, positioning the bead on the work between the needles, and putting the yarn back in the tensioner. It might be quicker in instances where the beading forms part of an overall texture.

Ah you only go 2.5 needles past for your flat panels. Most people say to go 3 but the ends were loose so I’ll try 2.5. Thanks.

For me This is the second time I watched your video. The first time I watched this video I was newer knitting on Addi. Now that I’ve had a little experience your video is much clearer to me. I can understand why flat panels did not work and why after a long piece I suddenly start drooping stitches. This time I took notes and am determined to watch again when I go back to Addi after a long break.
