Got to love the pomp & cirumstance & pageantry of college football...said in my Keith Jackson voice. Oh Nellie! (Which, as Keith Jackson pointed out, he never actually said. It was that imitator that made that phrase famous. )

This is the best of showing what the Purdue All-American Band pregame is all about. The pageantry and all the PAAMB gets the crowd in the mood for supporting the Boilers and being an American.

How do you play so many cadences correctly and in order? That's what I want to know!

Judith Meyer you memorize the order, and the music. Not super difficult

Activejr Modz I disagree. Maybe it’s because you are used to seeing boring marching bands that just march down the street like robots and don’t look like they enjoy it one bit.
@totesamazeballs6 жыл бұрын
Well bro they dont really need to have full on military style in this situation, they're just marching through campus to a performance and then a game. But even still their marching and playing is clean.

Hey, mind telling me the name of the heads on the Tenors? I'm looking for new heads because Ive finally convinced my director to maybe get better new heads, but I can't decided what the best heads are to have
@Magazine_278 жыл бұрын
+Nathan Stradling (Boo60) my highschool uses remos and the still have that twangy sounds so there pretty good
@Mr.Boo608 жыл бұрын
+ianace38 my high school uses Remo too, however I'm not asking for brand, I'm asking for a better model if you catch what I'm trying to say. I have cheaper type remind heads, so they sound bad, don't last as long, and get get up to the needed pitch. my heads look like they belong on concert toms, not marching toms. The heads that they are using and many others I've seen use appear to be similar quality to the snare heads, which would be beneficial, but that's from looking at a distance
@Magazine_278 жыл бұрын
Nathan Stradling ahh yeah our tenors have the remo emperors and they sound great and there not that old so im gonna assume they last a long time we used to have some crappy remo plastic and and our drum line captain who played tenors cracked like two of the heads so we got some of those
@Mr.Boo608 жыл бұрын
+ianace38 I'll look into those emperors then, I think I know the "remo plastic" you're talking about. pretty sure I have the same heads. my last tenor partner cracked like 3 heads, but two were used so: partly justified
@Magazine_278 жыл бұрын
our band director just came to our school plays percussion and hated those head so we switched them out right before our mpa so we just decided to get heads for all the drums
@drell38848 жыл бұрын
My drumlines cadences are all based around the base drums. That's fine for me because I was on bass last marching season. Planning on moving up to tenors this year!
@anniegivesup15898 жыл бұрын
with how you have to wear the harness under your uniform, how do you mount the go pro? The belly pad is low and would get in the way, right?
@cxzmyc8 жыл бұрын
Maybe he has one of those flexible camera stands mounted on the snare. Maybe that's why only a bit of the snare is showing. I'm just using logic, not sure though.

freaking tenor drums are awesome! the only thing i don't like about a lot of marching bands is they us sousaphones instead of marching tubas. marching tubas are so much more cool. but awesome line!
@dorienporter9 жыл бұрын
Do you know the name of the cadence?
@purdueuniversitydrumlinean46979 жыл бұрын
In this video, the line plays a variety of cadences in our sequence. The most common one is called 'Fun Coast' and is played the first time we step off on a march and right after every song. It is actually a combination of two cadences/exercises: Funky Fives and Suncoast.

This has got to be one of the best drumlines that is able to fool around while playing hard music and playing it clean. Looks like a ton of fun and it would be great to be part of this line. (in my personal opinion)
