The best time to go up there is in May. When we were much younger we always went up there sea kayaking. Alas now in my 70s we cycle instead.

@ it was Sunday midday we looking for Fish and chips because last night the place we looking for is closed. And we look at google the only one open is Haste Ye, is nice road and beautiful place. We really happy with the food. And after we went to Fairy Pools around 30 minutes drive. Thank you for your comment. Cheers

Nice ride, Burhan, good to see you visiting the city where I live. Leicester doesn't always get a good review by visitors but there is plenty of interesting stuff to see from a bicycle and we have some nice parks to ride between 👍🏼. It's easy to get lost if you're riding across country to Rutland Water 🙂 although going by the main routes can be hazardous due to the road traffic. You asked a bout "Market Towns", I can tell you that these tend to be middle sized towns that have historically held markets. Back in medieval times some towns were granted permission by the King or his representatives via a 'Royal Charter' to hold markets. Back then markets would sell animals and much more. These days many, or most, towns have markets but I think the term 'Market Town' applies to those granted a Royal Charter. I'm sure I've missed a lot of details and am happy for other comments to correct me or add some flesh to what I've written. Cheers👍🏼
