I wish Paralegals had the same role as in Ontario.

A police officer was called to remove a beggar in front of a store. The police came to the scene and saw two of us. He immediately tried to remove me as he felt I was a beggar since i was black!

Sadly it seems like our responsibilities as officers of the Law Society to 'police' society, including our clients, just keep expanding. Some might argue that the general Rule of Law in Canada at the level of the everyday citizen could be seen as incrementally ebbing away. For those making that argue I believe that they would blame a local, silent corruption as a growing problem. I would have thought that this (2) hr course certainly qualifies for the Ethics requirement for 2022? Someone please confirm. BMS

Hi, thank you so much for providing useful information. I would request you to make a video on different certifications that are available for candidates who as experience in risk and compliance, AML & KYC. It would be great if you give details like certification name, cost , course term or duration and from which recognized body it's coming from (US or UK).

Thanks for producing this - I hope that it may be possible to get community legal services set up in the Okanagan that can be based on universal human rights principles, so that we can ensure that our elderly are protected by all laws. www.loomio.org/g/Mj68lTfQ

My0 name is Shane Bennett and I have been studying law part time for about four years now I have two questions. I am not asking for legal advice I am seeking clarifying of ethical concepts in you videos only 1) on your KZbin channel at CLEBC and law part 1 @ 15:30 you clearly state that in order for someone to give legal consent all pernant details must be disclosed in a timely manner so simply put both signing parties must know in advance and understand what they signing is this correct and if a lawyer is representing a client the lawyer should at minimum understand all pertinent details on the contract. 2) do you know of any sercomstance where perdenent details of a contract are not disclosed by the clients lawyer to the client or other lawyers involved in the contract and that this still holds the contact valid and binding even though if the person new the pernant details he or she would never given there legal consent. In your KZbin video CLEBC and law part 1 @ 14:30 it states that a lawyer may not work against the interest's of a client. If there is a case that the clients lawyer does not disclose all perdenent information that "regardless of damage or not" it would seem just on the probability of needlessly added risk with out considering the lawyers motive that this conduct would be in violation of this. If there is hypotheticaly speeking a common practice among bar member's to not disclose all pertinent detail's to there clients what legal ethical actions could the BC Law Society take to remady this. I find your online videos very helpful in clarifying basic tenants of law wish you would do more of them. Shane Bennett Non. BAR member studying law
