What a neat experience! Thanks for sharing the history of the Z1 and taking us along to see the Z1 up close. I have a Z900RS Cafe, and while I never got the chance to ride a Z1 I'm really glad they captured the spirit of that bike - the Z900 is a blast to ride, it's my favorite motorcycle to date!

Both beautiful bikes. I do miss the 4 into 4 exhaust on the new ones but I hear if you have a spare Kidney to donate you can get a 4 into 4 for the new bike. Looks strange without the twin shocks also but I'm sure the mono shock has better ride and handling characteristics but neither is a reason to not buy the newer versions. Thanks.

The 1972 Z1 was the first Japanese bike bigger than the 883 Harley Davidson Sportster. It had more power than an FLH 1200 as well (82 vs. 58). Easy Rider came out in 1969 and the Willie G Davidson FX Superglide came out in 1971. Game on!

great review, getting my MT-03 this week and it will be my first bike, love the ride height since I am 5'8", most of the bikes I have been on always have me tip toeing and uncomfortable.

In 1989 I’ve went from Quebec Canada [ east coast] to Malibu California in a total 4 days all stops including sleep gas lunch and everything, and it was on a Ninja 750 ! It’s funny the amounts of times I’ve cross roads with the same big rig because he wasn’t stopping as often as i, i had to stop regularly to gas and stretch my legs, he was passing me and honking at me waving me by ! Then i hope on the bike and evidently going faster than him, waving by and repeat for almost the whole way. 😂👍

Great job brother! Man, I remember riding 100-125cc mx bikes as a kid. Most street bikes intimidated me massively (I was, and am short), but when I saw a Z1, I was in awe - and literally scared of it. Fast forward - I'm 62, have owned and ridden lots of bikes, but mostly Harleys from about 35yrs old to 2018. Everything from Sportsters to Electra Glide, Road King, Softails. Took a 4 yr break, and I'm as happy as a clam to have recently gotten back to two wheels with my '23 café in classic black and gold. Man, I absolutely love this bike!

I've asked this on a lot of review videos, but here goes again. Yes, I'm just fishing for opinions: Between this bike and the Suzuki Z400, which would you choose?
@Bikeurious

I assume you mean Kawasaki Z400, in which case I'd pick the Z400. Just a little bit more power and it fits me better (6'2") Here's my review of the MT-03: www.bike-urious.com/first-ride-review-2020-yamaha-mt-03/

@@Bikeurious Ha, I did. Thanks for catching that. I'll edit the comment. I've got too many models on the brain right now. I'm not quite as tall, so I'm not sure fit would be an issue. Any tips for a new rider trying on bikes at a dealer? I'm not sure if I'd gloss over something (like someone reviewing one of the two bikes was mentioning a ridge on the gas tank being just in the wrong place for their knee) which would be more important some time down the road.

@@NobodyWhatsoever It can be tough as a new rider to know what to look for. Any chance you have an experienced friend that could go with you?
@NobodyWhatsoever
@NobodyWhatsoever Жыл бұрын
@@Bikeurious That's sort of a yes and no. It's a long story, boiling down to basically ... No, the people I know who already ride a motorcycle aren't the kind of rider I'd want to be. And I do have a friend who wants to get his first motorcycle in a long, long time, but he's glued to vintage bikes rather than modern (which is perfectly fine, and you'd probably also love some of the bikes he's been looking at with a family member who repairs them as a hobby -- gorgeous beasts). So, I'm basically going it alone. My plan is, whatever I buy as a first motorcycle this summer, I'm bringing it home on a trailer, and probably taking some late night rides after work for a bit to get better.

I actually dailyd a 87 rz 350 with nitrous . It was terrifying to hit the button then climb over the bars and tank to wrestle the front end down , I'd actually flipped it over twice just by hitting the button. That was my last experiment with 2strokes and nitrous .
