I'm a Red Band All State player, from Alabama and i used to participate in UAB and UA Honor Winds. Every time you all remind me of those years gone by with your emaculate sound, it brings back so many memories and gives me a great feeling inside!!!! Thank you so much!!!!❤

Upon further research, it appears that this was originally recorded in 1893 with Sousa's Band, a year after he had left The United States Marine Band.

As much I like J.P.Sousa and his marches ,I think Karl King is a bit better and should be King of North America Marches . There something about his poetry of marches that I can’t explain

I don't know if it's the same recording, but they had a version of The President's Own on CD doing LotR and Firebird Suite that I'd check out all of the time while I went through the School of Music in Norfolk back in '04. I'd get lost in that recording. Edit: I can't read, apparently. This was done in 2018, so no. Not the recording I used to listen to. But, props to the President's Own. They did two absolute banger recordings of this.

Nice precise band playing soul music. It's too sterile. Needs more hair, but there are some nice embellishments by the lead trumpet in a few places.

Try some of the modern composers like Einojuhani Rautavaara or Jøn Leifs. Although with the political situation at the moment, Holt's Mars, would be suitable as well.
