As awful as the character "Veruca" was, the real actor did a marvelous job portraying a rude privileged kid. And she had a wonderful voice for her age at the time. And still does given the interview.

Love them. How simple it was to make people laugh back then - but the risks were awful. I believe several of the Kops were badly hurt during some of the stunts. Out of curiosity, where was that cliff, with the big theatre or whatever down below on the sands? It turnes up in a lot of the old Keystone films.

I went to your site but most of the very few people that have seen these are not going to go type it in their browsers. Most won't click a link but many more will than will not. Just think about it. Personally, I really enjoyed the new show but I sure was hoping for more than 34 episodes made in fits and starts over the course of 8 long years. Joel’s a funny guy but I guess he’s not known for productivity or following through on stuff.

After a botched attempt at yet more crowd funding, the future of the show is currently uncertain. I sure hope it comes back, but I’d like it to happen with some support beyond another 5 million dollars of fan money. Also a concrete plan for consistent seasons. It’s been 8 years and we have three seasons and 34 episodes to show for it, and that was with over ten million in crowd funding. This show is awesome but there has to be a better way.

@@al271987 Joining in the chat for the streamed episodes has been so much fun. and to feel all the love for the show. However, I do wonder if it belongs fundamentally in the 90s. That was a unique time and an unique moment. Bringing high culture to low culture was so much of that time, and perhaps you had to be Gen X as well to have such a wider range of pop cultural references across so many genres, before everything fragmented and became niche. We are somewhere different now, and perhaps sadly so.

I've only just become aware of Mr. Hahn, but what's not to like about a guy who chronicles the history of Peter Lorre cartoon imagery, and GETS IT PUBLISHED? Possibly the most offroad special interest book since EROTIC ORIGAMI. I love it!

I was only 5 in 71 when it was released, but I didn't watch it for the first time till about 76, and I just had a mad crush on Veruca Salt the cute brat ! I just liked her demanding and oppressive attitude!

He was an all rounder, certainly. One of the all time great character actors who could do it all. Good guys, heavies, lovable scoundrels, evil geniuses, dimwitted hicks, clever captains of industry. Didn't matter. As an actor he could play anything. And pretty much did.
