I think Mat 15:21-28 is sort of a litmus test of your relationship with Yeshua and the rest of his people. Those that trust him see it as a simple analogy about order of operations and it doesn't even touch their radar, those who distrust Yeshua and hate scripture and look for ways to excuse the statement looking for something wrong with it.....and the third category uses it to normalize racism against God's people and to bolster racist beliefs that the apostles had to fight against in the first century (that Yeshua was zero percent a part of).

She missed the opportunity to give a cultural perspective like you did and allowed offense instead. I had a hard time reconciling the "Sunday school Jesus " I was taught with the actual Yeshua/God of the entire bible because of that cultural avoidance. In my pre-Messianic Judaism stage...2009, I participated in Bethel (Redding) year 1 School of Supernatural Ministry on a satellite campus in Idaho. Believe me, the school at Bethel was and still is an intense school of discipleship. Although many students are right out of High School, I was in my 60's and was coming out of a non-charismatic denomination. I know, a lot of paradigm shifts, but I strongly believe it was a precursor to my discovering and accepting Messianic Judaism and finding FFOZ.

Very simply and biblically speaking, the new covenant is only for two parties: North Israel who left and South Israel who left (Jeremiah and Ezekiel make this clear). It's not for a separate entity called "the church" nor does the "church" replace the Tree that both Israels make up. Paul makes it clear that you surrender your gentileness to become one new person inorder to be grafted in the the commonwealth of the parties involved. Yeshua makes it clear that some people in the invited parties will not join back into covenant, so outsiders will have to be added. As someones plus one or last minute substitute at a wedding, it's not your place to behave in certain ways. The People who call themselves the Church are the drunk party crashers who need to be told to shut up and have a cup of coffee shoved in their face. Like the second last episode of Community where the Greendale gang shows up to Garret's wedding late and drunk ruining it. Especially with growing antisemtism alleged christians these days claiming these dead theologies to justify their beliefs. Why would you want to aline yourself with Presbyterianism?
