The Resurrection of Gavin Stone is actually one of my favorite movies. It’s clever and feels so real to a lot of guys’ experiences. I studied film in school and love movies, so I’m not just saying it because it’s Christian. It is actually a good movie. ❤

Huge huge fan of the show but I’m biased. Bigger fan of the Bible! I gotta say I am with Dallas. I don’t know anyone who this show turned them away from the Bible. I know of lots who are actually reading their bibles more! For me, it’s given me a picture of the real history and the way things looked back then. How the people actually dressed and the scenery. It’s so cool. I read my Bible with more vision now. I don’t really picture the actors as the people in my Bible. And certainly Jesus is not Jonathan. If someone can’t distinguish that then it’s understandable them not wanting to watch the show. But they best not watch any Bible movies or shows.

I love what you're saying here, @StephanieBogart . I am one who, when watching a series, create a connection with the characters. This, again, for me, not as a general principle, infiltrates my mental imagery while reading the scripture. For example, when I read about where Jesus says, "Cast your net . . . " I recall that scene. For me it's different from watching, say, The Passion. TV series create more of a character connection for me as opposed to a single films rendition of a topic. Interesting things to think about. Thanks for sharing
@loganr.buchanan16079 күн бұрын
I love hearing other perspectives. Personally, I do not watch it because I prefer not to have mental images, due to watching the show, fill-in spaces while I'm reading scripture. Yet, if it draws others to scripture more, praise God.

In the show he is yes. But the reason they did this is because of all the historical evidence on the real Matthew, it’s plausible that he was.

The part that really stuck out to me was 33:13 What your answer is to this question is serious in my opinion, not only does it show where your heart is but it also probably reveals a part of your life that should be changed or worked on. So if I answered like this “oh if I knew Jesus was coming back tomorrow I’d grab as many people and tell them about our Lord and what he did for us” well from what I understand is there is no tomorrow. As in we could die today, or Jesus could come back, so why aren’t we doing 10x the amount of work we say we would if we knew?

I see it's something common in The United States to go on dates and I'm schoked to hear that this amazing woman goes on dates frequently. For me that would be really weird and a wasting of time cause if we are trusting in the Lord and we are happy in our season of singleness. What's the purpose in going on a date? The bible tells us the history behind the marriage of the people of God and it's beautiful to know that God made a way for them in order to happen. But I understand maybe it's something cultural in that country. However we need to be careful, cause if she is not sure whether God is going to give her that desire of marriage or not, then what's the point in going on a date?. That would be really sad not knowing the will of God for our lives and still go and try to match with people. That's something I hope God will reveal in her heart. She can be better than that. ❤ But I found this podcast episode really interesting and had a good time watching you guys.

I couldn't function at work when I tried quitting weed. My wife convinced me to keep smoking it. I've been wondering if I am living in sin still smoking it to get relief from my pain.I

Hello! I'm from Brazil and I came across this wonderful video! I've struggled with masturbation since I was 15...I'm currently 49...I've always looked for excuses to justify something that I already knew inside of me was a sin. I never dated, nor married... I took my virginity because I was embarrassed to go to the gynecologist and tell them I was a virgin. I violated my body... Today I feel guilty and am very ashamed of my actions. I believe I never got married because of masturbation... as a result of my sin. However, this video gave me the courage to share my mistakes. I really want to free myself from this addiction. I don't have anyone I trust to tell me how I feel. Please pray for me! And thank you for this video! I'm sure it was God who brought me here!

I just want to clarify something regarding the Sabbath day. The Bible states that the Sabbath is on the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday (Genesis 2:2-3, Exodus 20:8-11). From the beginning of creation, God set apart the seventh day as a day of rest and holiness. Jesus observed the Sabbath (Luke 4:16), and it remains a sign of our relationship with God (Ezekiel 20:20). Historically, the change from Saturday to Sunday worship wasn’t based on Scripture but was instituted by the Catholic Church. In the 4th century, Emperor Constantine enacted Sunday as a day of rest, and the Catholic Church later affirmed it as the new day of worship. However, the Bible and the Gregorian calendar both affirm that Saturday is the seventh day. Keeping the Sabbath on this day is about following God’s original command, not man-made traditions. Honoring the Sabbath means acknowledging the day God blessed and sanctified.

This is sounding very close to how the Pharisees were acting. As long as you have the right heart posture and are choosing a day to rest and worship, that should be enough.

But you cant compare the Bible to the Eliad
@DHSMP29 күн бұрын
I don’t think he was directly comparing the Bible and the Eilad. It was more of a comparison that the Eilad was passed down through stories or “oral traditions” and we, for the most part say it is reliably fictionally retold despite hundreds of years time gap and trust it. But, with the Bible we have a lot of historical facts in the scripture that help us accurately date events within the Bible but it is still the most scrutinized and debated text till this day on it’s veracity. I think that is what he was getting at :)
@pisketti29 күн бұрын
I get the point he was trying to make with it. I wonder how other religious texts line up with that point too like the Iliad.
@DHSMP27 күн бұрын
@@pisketti well I think that is where the real beauty of the Bible comes in. It’s not only a guide to the Christian life and the Word of God but it is also a living breathing book of history from ancient times which can be verified through other historians, people, and cultures who were present during the old and New Testament of the Bible. I am certainly biased. But, few other religions can claim the same historical accuracy as the Bible not to mention the cross references from the OT and NT, and prophecies fulfilled.
