Dear Miss Gray apparently you have beguiled me with your viola. I know of no other violist who can play with such facility. You make me wanna run out now and buy a viola. The most difficult suite I’ve encountered, all of the others may be slightly more technically demanding but this and the first suite as a close second are extraordinarily difficult to phrase!!! Not to mention the homogeneity of the sound and being completely convincing. I love the Gray intensity and ease characteristic of your playing!! A very fine performance with clear evidence of a huge amount of work and care in your playing!

Bravissima, I love this piece, I've never heard played with a viola but the sound is magnificient.

Her interpretation of Bach has no core strength. Her playing is weak and her interpretation of Bach is shallow. I could only listen to two or three minutes of her muddled playing before saying "I can't take it any more!" I have yet to listen to find a female violist that is compelling enough to have me listening to the whole of her performance.

I understand that it takes A LOT of practice to play like this, which is absolutely beautiful by the way, but to be able to commit 20 minutes of such complex music to memory! Incredible. This was an an amazing performance, thank you so much for your dedication and for sharing it for all of us to see!

She's probably got a dozen full concertos in her head plus a trove of other stuff. All the pros learned to memorize everything from their first lessons. Musicians agree that Bach is among the hardest material to memorize, but the pros just do it.

I was curious about that too. It looks like a huge viola because Ms. Gray is a relatively petite woman. I remember seeing a picture of her with some other contests finalists, and she she looks tiny in comparison to the other individuals (even in comparison to the other women) in the picture.
