So when did it become a crime to give safety tips. Leave yourself open and vulnerable in ANY country will get you into trouble. You taking this too personal, I talk about Jamaica safety tips as well. Crime is everywhere, am I going to visit the Deep South in America where blacks are a target and not take precautions? Am I going to live in a national front area in the Uk and not take precautions? Am I going to to travel to Kington Jamaica and not take percussion as a tourist? Am I going to to live recklessly in any country that I stand out and not take precautions? Give your gripe to the Fatu network and Watson Gambia 🇬🇲 they are the first ones to report what is going on on in Gambia. Do you own the Gambia, is that all you have to say? Am I going to leave my home in the USA , Uk, or any other place on earth because there is crime. I would be running 🏃 for ever. Instead I will take precautions wherever I live .

@AFRICAGOODLIFE4993 most of you are coming from the diaspora where crime is worst than anywhere in Africa but are offended by everything in Africa, you should be grateful for being accepted by africans something that would never happen in the west.A lot of Whyte, Indian and Chinese are in these countries co existing with Africans without any problems, black diasporans are the only people who cannot get along with any other groups no matter where they live

I live in Gambia originally from England of Jamaican parents. Im 63 now. I bought my compound from TAF. Anyone familiar with Gambia will have heard about TAF. If not research them on the Internet. Me personally would never buy land in a foreign country with a aim to build on it. Unless i was a qualified builder myself. Not only Gambia do people get scammed like this but in Jamaica too. Please do not trust anyone. In Gambia every one smiles at you because they want you to drop your guard. They see you as rich and they are poor, so you can afford to lose your money. Unfortunately l hear this tragic scenario a lot happening to diasporan solo women. And not too much to men. I don't play when it comes to my money and if they try to skank me i just Gwan bad in front of them and mek dem know duppy know who fe frighten. But then im a man and ex amateur boxer from England!!

Great advice. And i love your delivery, Cogent, thought-provoking but straight to the point. Listen, i have been living in Gambia for nearly 7 years now. Granted, i do live in a gated community in brufut gardens. I also have a Gambian girlfriend. My philosophy in life is trust no one! When i was living in London my motto was i dont go people's houses and no one comes to my house. Apart from my 33 year old daughter. I know this sounds kinda anti social and Cold but thats my survival. In Gambia i don't allow my Gambian girlfriend to invite all and sundry into my compound except her mother and her 2 younger sisters. My driver is Gambian a Fula who has driven me for 6 years now, i even bought him a Car. But i still don't trust him a watch him in ways he would never comprehend. I would also warn diasporans thinking of forwarding to Gambia not to Nyam Nyam from any and every body. Jamaicans know the meaning of Nyam Nyam. And be aware that Gambia just like Ghana and Nigeria is a Country full of Witchcraft. This is a fact and not Superstition. People die everyday from poisoning out here. But all said and done i truly love this little Country. Stay blessed 🙌

Some peolle are begging us not to go to gambia, if you have to be looking back to see if you are being followed whats the point. This poor man hired a guy to drive his truck, then he was stabbed to death, poor man. Many of the women like you giving the same advise were murdered

I never said not to go , I said be cautious just like you would be in your own country of residence. I reported what is on Gambia news media. I am covered under wings of God and he has shown me what to do, and I have done it. Gambia , an experience of Africa that I don’t regret but it is not the only place on earth.

Every where in the poor countries you go, people always think you nave money. When i lived in the carribean, i thought every American who came to the country were rich people, so its not unusual. Unless you were born in that country, you should stay where you were born. You cannot trive in a country where you were not born when you get to a certain age. The africans dont care about you just your money. I cant see myself livining in africa what a lonely life it would be, because even the other people you bring over dont care about you.

This is not completely true though. The food is Senegalese not Gambian, also jollof rice originally from Saint Louis Senegal is an intangible cultural heritage. Culture is also different, what visitors see in Gambia is actually Senegalese culture which should not wonder since Gambia is a small country. I´m a native so I should know.

Thanks for your comment, I have eaten both Gambian and Senegalese Benachin /jollof rice and they are cooked differently, and they taste different too. I did not eat in a restaurant but with both Gambian and Senegalese families and they also informed me that the idea of the one pot is the same , but , they all put a different twist to it. I do make references to similarities and differences in other aspects. We cook one pot in the Caribbean Too, but it also has a different twist. The sameness between the two regions outweighs differences.

@@AFRICAGOODLIFE4993 Gambian jollof rice tastes differently because it is not native to them. Thieboudienne is also called one pot/benechin in Senegal, Gambians still call it one pot because when it was introduced to them they didn’t have dishes besides those coming from Senegal. both countrie´s cultures are different what you or visitors see in Gambia is just Senegalese in the same way as thieboudienne is.

A lot of expats give gambia rave reviews, I guess misery love company, I say the negative things about gambia out weigh the positives, and now the currentcy is beginning to lose its value and know what that means, this is just my opinion, go and check it out for yourself. Right now I am in Botswana and this place ic much more organized then the gambia and way more developed, my credit cards even work here but didn't in gambia. But it's up to you even the taxi and the Uber is cheaper here.

I lived in gambia for 8 months and what this sister is say is absolutely on point. I've seen people buy land and then after they started building someone comes and put a claim on the land and you out of your money. Also when I was there a number of people were robbed and killed or just robbed so it's not as safe as every body says.

@globalvillageTravelChannelThere may be a difference in the way we interpret that term. It is very easy for people to get swept away with the smiles and the easy going nature of the people, the sand , sea, sun ,the foods, what appears to be freedom and feeling like they are the part of the majority, feeling like they are home at last due to the way they are welcomed and the love ❤️ bombing .Many have fallen by the wayside based on one or two visits and a lack of understanding of what’ lies behind some of the charms.Africa is not utopia, but no where on earth is. People just need to learn about the the way of life, learn about what is real and what is too good to be true and take caution ⚠️ where ever they live
