Hi Marabelle, I have inherited a Bernina 807 and the smaller inner hand wheel has jammed, I even undid the screw and still jammed. Would you have any idea on how to help. Thank you Cat
@MarabelleDesigns17 күн бұрын
@catherinejohnston8505 hello! Are you talking about the handwheel release? I don't know much about that particular model, but I'll see what I can do to help. Is the needle not moving with the handwheel, or is it jamming while sewing?
@catherinejohnston850517 күн бұрын
Thank you for getting back so quickly. The needle is moving up and down up and down but not actually sewing and also the hand wheel twists around but the smaller hand wheel is stuck fast so unable to fill a bobbin. Thank you Cat

@catherinejohnston8505 Hmmm, one possibility could be that your clutch knob is not assembled properly or there is something stuck behind the wheel. Have you tried taking it apart? (The clutch is easy to fix, but you just need to make sure the washer is installed at the right position or the clutch wheel won't work). I can link some videos of how to do that if you think that would help.

Welcome back. How was your experience while living abroad? Was there any cultural schock? Did you learn/experience something nice?
@MarabelleDesigns2 ай бұрын
Thank you for asking! It was wonderful. I love the people there, and their culture is so lovely: the food, the language, the scenery, and of course, the folk clothing.😉 I have gathered a lot of footage from beginning to end, and I hope to compile it into a little documentary to share my experience!

I just started sewing, and this is absolutely adorable, so I'm going to try and make one. Just a quick question though (and probably a stupid one); one piece of the pattern must be cut on the right side of the fabric, and the other on the wrong side? Or how do I match them up? Because they don't match up in shape otherwise, right?

Love it! Any possibilities of making more Sleeping Beauty videos, like more with the spinning wheel?
Hi Marabelle. I like the way that you presented your information on your Bernina sewing machine. The back-story with regard to how the machine came to you was interesting and the work you required to have done, with assistance from your Dad. Also, what you have done yourself, to return it to fully operational and functional order. At age 73, because of physical limitations due to nerve damage in my back, I have just purchased a Bernina 1130. While looking around for information on maintenance and repair details for the machine, I came across your video. Over the next few weeks and months, I will be doing exploratory searches, experimental work and practice on the machine, since I have never used a sewing machine before. It is a process and exercise to which I am looking forward. Thanks for your directions, given clearly and with good diction, on how you maintain your machine and the description of some functions of the machine. Best Wishes, Peter 🇦🇺

You really can’t beat the older BERNINA 807 minimatic, 810, 830 record, 930 and the 1008. They are true workhorses and really are durable with fantastic stitch quality. These full metal bodied machines are so much more reliable than any new plastic computerised machines. If you can get one online I would definitely recommend sourcing a reputable Bernina service Shop, to give the machines a service and make sure the electrics are safe, they are worth the service cost and would recommend learning how to maintain them properly just like Marabelle shows. here Thank you so much for sharing your love of the vintage BERNINA’s and showing how to maintain them

If you are looking for amazing Bernina service centre in the UK you can not get any better than Bamber Sewing Machines. I’ve been using them for well over 20 years and they are always super competitive price wise and their service is excellent. Such a great family run business that will always go the extra mile (quite literally) to make sure their customers machines are stitching perfectly. If you are looking for an older Bernina, they also have refurbished machines for sale too. They also run classes so they can teach you have everything works on that machine to make sure you get the full use out of it.

I am glad you showed the plaster step because it sounded daunting before that. I did not find the video oversimplified. I did have some questions: 1) What formed the base of your form underneath the t-shirt layers? I could see some metal underneath, besides the pole in the center. 2) Why not just stuff the T-shirts instead of adding a plaster layer? (That's the method I have been considering, just stuffing shirts.) Thanks!

The hedgehogs, both the stitched ones and the live little guy, are absolutely adorable. The embroidery tutorial was not only a good refresher, but also an excellent tutorial for someone new to the art.

My chaos sewing can’t hold a candle to your masterful craftsmanship 😭. I’m making my dress for sweethearts rn and I was too impulsive to even draw up a design let alone draft a pattern and I’m definitely paying the price for it. I miss you Mary!
